When I was growing up my mom used to can several jars of bread %26 butter pickles each year, the only difference is that my mom used to add slices of sweet onions to the recipe. These are the closest that I've been able to find to my mom's recipe. Has a very excellent flavor to them and I'll definitely be purchasing these again!
Mother and grandmothers made these; Mt Olive is the only brand (I've tried them all), that will do. You can tell they don't cut corners or scrimp on ingredients. Must be what sets them apart. I won't eat any other brand! Great on burgers, chopped for tuna salad or hot dog topping, I eat them plain by the jarful. So good.
These are just the best sweet pickle chips out there. Even Vlasic can't quite compare. The Mt. Olive Bread and Butter Chips are sometimes a little tough to find in stores, but it's worth an extra trip if you can find someone who carries them. We eat them chopped in our salads and in our homemade thousand island dressing and tartar sauce, as well as on burgers and sandwiches.
My husband was amazed at the flavor. He eats one jar in two meals. Only pickles he eats. I buy 4 jars at a time.
I requested Mt. Olive Bread %26 Butter chips but instead driver brought Gedney hamburger dill chips which I did not request. I'm disappointed.
I've bought Mt. Olive in the past and didn't have this issue. But the last 2 jars had entirely too many seeds. I'm going to try Vlasic bread and butter pickles next time.
Both my husband and I love Mt. Olive pickles. The reason I only gave one star is due to the bad packing from walmart. One of the glass bottles (ordered 3) completely broke, entire package were wet.
Leaked - ugh. Love the pickles, sad at packaging.
Ordered for delivery and never received. States delivery attempted but the Ring doorbell shows this as untrue. No one has bothered to contact me to reschedule. The shopper won't answer the chat Tried calling this location for 20 minutes and no one answered the phone.
One bottle came broken and there was pickle juice all over my purchases. Not a good time. The jar that didnt break was really yummy.
