I love my kitty to death but he was scratching up the furnature! I got two of these and placed one on each level of my house near the places that he liked to scratch and he took to them immediately. I've had them for just over a year now and only needed to replace one due to wear. Kiki no longer scratches the furnature, he just goes to wherever his posts are!! I am very pleased and this product exceeded my expectations, especially for the low cost.

My cat loves this thing, I bought it for her when I got some leather furniture. I was worried that she wouldn't want to use it because I couldn't put catnip on it because she's not affected by it. To my surprise, she absolutely love it. She uses it all the time and has yet to touch the couch. It's sturdy and looks decent.
I have 4 cats, 3 indoors, so it was important to find something that would keep them off the carpet and furniture! This scratching post was a really good deal, and my cats don't scratch the furniture at all anymore :] highly recommended.
Bought this scratching post so my cat can scratch on it instead of the woodwork.
My nine-month old kitten will not use this for any reason. She ignores it, even when I place it right in front of her favorite scratching corners. She'll push it right out of her way. My ten-month old, however, I have seen use it once, but she now takes after the nine-month old and uses my desk chair instead. It looks very nice though.
I sent this item as a gift. It arrived, but the box it was in was mangled beyond belief. Fortunately the product itself was intact, and the cats are enjoying it. Use caution if having the product mailed!
This actually would be fine as a cat scratching post- but it is cheap for a reason. It is super light and not weighted at all, so when my cat uses it (as it is intended to be used) it tumbles over on her. I'm too cheap and lazy to buy a new one, so I'm just going to find something heavy to attach it to so that she can used it. Oh well.
This scratcher tips over when my cat scratches on it. I called the manufacturer of the product and they told me to nail a larger piece of wood under the scratcher and that such help. I told him that wasn't that kind of misleading if you have to do something to the scratcher without being told on the instructions. Not surprisingly, I haven't heard from them.
The cat scratcher is too short even for my 3 month old kitten. Don't waste your money...spend a tad more and get something they can climb.
