Once assembled it works great but it was a pain to fix as i have it.
This gate met our needs and expectations to confine our dog. It is simple to use. We mounted it without hardware, and it locked tight inside the door frame. Despite our arthritis, my wife and I had no problem locking or unlocking the latch. The gate is used at night and taken down and stored during the day.
Works great to keep my 4 dogs corralled. I have an older model and it's still working fine but sometimes we need to separate the dogs further (injury, illness). I like the new improved locking mechanism. We use it anywhere in the house because of the pressure mount. We do not use the hardware.
good price, decent enough, quick release is decent too. doesn't fit door quite right but this building is old so maybe the door isn't perfectly squared. not sure.
I bought this gate for when we put our dogs in the kitchen. it says it only opens to 42" but you could get a little more it of it. pretty good quality for the price. One thing I really like is that it seems like it won't damage the wall nearly as bad as almost every other gate. I only have 4 starts because of two things. 1. the part used to lock in place to keep it at whatever width you expanded it to seems like it's going to break when you lock it in. and 2. it seems pretty sturdy at the sides, but it's kinda wobbly in the middle. It works be perfect for use with babies and small dogs. we have a giant breed dog, so we will see how long it hold up!
Works great for the purpose. It's a little difficult to remove the gate as the latch is rather tight once it's wedged in there. The handle is smaller than it used to be and more difficult to adjust. (I had the last one for 13 years and loved it.) Also, I wish they hadn't packaged the extra unnecessary permanent swing equipment inside the gate. It was very challenging to remove! I love the gate, but those two items brought it down a star.
Needed a gate for top of stairs with rail to rail connection. Couldn't tell from online video hat this could not be attached rail to rail. So this wasn't viable.
My review is based on 2 gates I bought and not just one bad piece. This is a badly designed product for hardware mount. The gates are supposed to be slid onto the mounts and the mounts are too small and they do not have any cover to hold the gate in place. Even the slightest movement to close or remove the gate unmounts it, making it impossible to get this in place unless you do it real slow. The screws provided are without anchors and god knows why they feel everyone will always have anchors handy or will use it in a stud. The gates movement itself is not smooth and you will need to really pull them apart to open. The pressure mounted version is also no good. Because the gates are so stiff that it becomes tough to adjust them in place and the lever to lock them will almost always be stuck at a point where you will not be able to push it all the way down unless you adjust the gates. I will not recommend these.
Do not buy, these are garbage. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The gate would either be too loose or too tight and the over tightening broke them both, and having them loose defeats the purpose when you're trying to keep a toddler in one room. Already threw them away or I'd include pictures. We're going to install a door instead of wasting more money on garbage products like this one.
Compared to other versions, really flimsy plastic. Will be returning as part of the plastic in the back (glide/track) broke off when trying to lock in place
