I have been using my Emjoi for 5 years and love it! Not only do I have far less hair now, what I have is thinner. I only have to use it once every week or two. I used to hate to hand tweeze my facial hair. This does it in seconds. This is the best beauty product I have ever used!
I love it! It did a great good the first time I used it, it does take a little bit to get use to the slight pain you have ,at least on my face. The first time I used it on my face it did have small bumps on my cheeks for a few days but the went away with no lasting effects.
This is a great product. I just replaced the one I had for over twenty years. Very effective, efficient and a great price [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I was a bit nervous when I first turned this product on because of the noise it made but it's not very painful at all. It kinda feels like getting your legs waxed just a bit less painful. You do however have to go over the spot two to three times.
This is a very useful product. When using it there is pain because it pulls out the hair. If you use it on your arms or legs the pain is barely noticable; However, if you want to use this product for your armpits or bikini line you must have high tolerance for pain.
I ordered this about two weeks ago, and it just came in today. Trying it for the first time, I was prepared for a lot of pain...it pulls the hair out by the root so of course it isn't going to tickle, there will be some discomfort. Well, I am pleased to say that it didn't hurt nearly as bad as I was expecting it to. It was more of an annoying prickly pain than it was a screaming stinging pain(which was what I was expecting). It didn't take as long as I expected either, though it is still a bit time consuming. However, if it last for a few weeks I am willing to spend the extra time in exchange for not having to remove the hair as often. I suggest doing this before you go to bed rather than during the day before you go out to do anything. It does turn your skin red for a few hours, and that isn't a very pretty sight. Once the skin has calmed down though, it looks perfectly fine, and there are no little dark spots where the hairs once were like I usually get from shaving. Also, be sure to keep your skin pulled tight, it hurts a lot less than when you don't, and helps to remove more hairs in one motion. I would also just like to say that this product was very easy to clean, which wasn't something I was expecting. I will update and let everyone know just how long the hair removal lasts, but so far I really like this product and would recommend it to anyone.
It was my first time buying this kind of product. I was a bit doubtful, if it would work for me or not. However, I've had it for a while now and I am very glad that I bought it. I had not fully realized that Emjoi works like tweezers and not a razor, until I used it. The first time I used it I got water in my eyes. I guess I was not fully prepared for the pain, which only lasts a second. It's gotten much better, since I use it often. It also helps if the hairs are not fully grown. And the hairs that grow back are not like thorns. Overall, if you want a change from a razor, than this is the best product to start with. Just prepare yourself for a little pain.
Hard to believe I was so excited to get this torture device. Today was my first time to use an epilator. I did my research and decided that I only needed it for my face and neck (low hairline) so 18 tweezers was all I needed. If i had wanted one for my legs I would of bought one with more tweezers. The first place I used it was on my upper arm, I had long fuzz and it took care of it nicely. It turned my arm red for about an hour and it went away. I then used it on my face, it got the all the hairs a certain length it skipped the very short hairs that were just coming in so I still have some stubble. I then tried it on the hair line on my neck and it hurt the worst but since it was such a little area it didn't last long before the pain was gone and I had smooth skin. It left my skin red but I am sure it will be gone by tomorrow so until then I will wear my hair down. I even got my earlobe stuck in it and it stopped the epilator from spinning, it hurt but it didn't leave a mark on my ear. My face got a little red, the area where I went over the most trying to get those little hairs was the reddest. Nothing that will stop me from going to to town today. I am sure makeup will cover the rest. It didn't cut my face and that was my biggest fear. My face is fine just a little red but nothing upsetting. So far I would buy this again. It really helps get rid of hair in a short time. This is my first experience with an epilator, it had good reviews and was cheap so I decided to give it a try. I am impressed so far. I might buy one with more tweezers later once I get used to this one and become a pro. I think this one is a good for the face, it is gently and safe and you can use it while plugged in and don't have to buy batteries. It pulled out the coarse and thin peach fuzz but the length of hair is the trouble, it needs to be a certain length before it will get the hair just like waxing but the damage to the skin is less then waxing and their is no sticky mess plus it is faster then waxing. From now on I will save the waxing for my eyebrows (at a salon). I like it and I pray it last a long time. If it dissapoints me later on I will be back ha ha.
My roommate and I went halfsies on this and have very different opinions of it. My roommate says it's already paid for itself. She is pleased that her skin stays smooth for about a week and a half and when the hairs grew back the first time they were already thinner. She says it hurts, but only the first time. It also only makes your legs red for a few hours and only the first time you use it. I did not enjoy it, however. I found it quite painful each time, although I have low pain tolerance so that might not be the same for everyone. It also does not do a great job with really thin hairs, so your legs will look great but won't be as smooth as with shaving. Overall it's a convenient product, but it really depends on what's important to you.
I've found that this epilator works great on coarse hair, like bikini line and under armpits, but it takes quite a few more rounds on my upper legs, probably because the hair is thinner there. But it actually did work well on the upper lip. It has two settings, one for the coarse hair the other for thinner, and they both seem to do the job. Just be patient, it takes longer than shaving but results are worth it. It is a great one to buy if its the first time purchasing an epilator. This epilator doesnt come with a hair catcher thing, so the hair kinda is flicked everywhere, so you just have to clean that up afterwards- not a big deal. But the cord is super long (if you have it plugged in) so you can do it in the tub- with no water of course! You can also charge it so you can use it cordless, and that works too.
