Good phone and has a better keyboard than my other phone which for me is a huge deal. I like the fact you can add a Samsung account so if you lose your phone, it tracks it. Service is still good, which is a big deal too as there has been a few times in which I get a new phone and the service kinda sucked. Camera is pretty good and the self portrait part is kinda cool with the yellow circle thing to make sure you get a good photo.

When you are looking to buy a Straight Talk especially if you are looking for Verizon Wireless Towers DO NOT ASSUME the MAP on the front is CORRECT you want to Look on the bottom left to make sure it says CDMA-V . That's Verizon's Towers

This is my second phone that I bought. I left the first one on the truck bumper in the sun and it affected the phone screen. Thought about buying a new screen, it was higher than a new phone. I was very satisfied with the first one and the price was good, so I bought another one.

This Samsung Galaxy Core Prime (what a mouthfull) after a week of hard use is finally settling in and finding its place and making me smile a lot! Early on it almost got returned because it refused to let you talk and browse the internet at the same time, this feature only works if you use it in Wifi mode not mobile data...a little ingenuity and it is just not an issue for me because it does so much more and does it very well. Taking high quality pictures and video is easy while the Android 4.4 runs flawlessly...(wish it was half this good on my tablets). One thing I did was to put a matte finish ( non reflective) screen protector on it for easier daylight viewing and more crisp viewing. Having fat fingertips I prefer to use the larger keyboard you get when tipped horizontally, but using voice control is also on my to do list. After a week of use I continue go be impressed, phone performance is excellent, battery life depends on you while internet enjoyment depends heavily on your browser for which I highly recommend the Opera mini browser which lets you seriously control data use and is easily taylored to your individual taste. Big advantages come with 4g lte over the much slower and cantakerous 3g, 4g lte is somewhat faster but much more reliable than 3g as 3g tends to drop weak signals a lot where 4g lte does not and when you have a good signal it is quick! My ultimate plan was to re evaluate my internet and phone needs and build around that....and this little Samsung marvel is making it a reality while saving me money to boot!

I see that many have had issues, but if you are an old school type individual and just want an Android phone it works fine for me. Pros: Has not froze up once, easy to operate, could not resist this price on Black Friday Cons: Phone heats up when running some apps, eats battery life

I bought this phone just two months ago on Black Friday for my husband and myself. We had issues in the beginning with only receiving phone calls when they wanted us too. Then apps were very slow to load. It also takes my husband's phone forever to receive a text message of any kind. Since the beginning our phones would randomly go into "roaming" even though we didn't even go anywhere and had just made a successful call. We could even go into our phone settings and see that it wasn't roaming and yet the phone voice said we were. Now I am even more ready to run my phone over because it won't stop freezing! I have an SD card in it for extra space and have put a few apps on there. I have also deleted a couple of the more memory users and yet it keeps freezing! Now when I say freezing, I mean totally quits, time doesn't change, and touch screen doesn't work (most of the time it tells me TouchWiz has quit). I then have to take the cover off, remove the battery, and put it all back together. It wouldn't be so bad but then it freezes after 5 minutes or so of even non-activity so then I have to do this again. All it doesn't is run the battery down and I miss important phone calls. I had called ST and for the roaming they said to remove the SIM card. Well I did that and within 5 minutes I tried making a phone call. Guess what? ROAMING. I also mention my main issue of the freezing and was told to delete some apps. Like I mentioned I did that and nothing changed. GRRRR, never trying this phone again.

I bought the Galaxy Core Prime as an upgrade. The second day I had it the signal bars disappeared and I spent hours on the phone with multiple Straight talk customer service reps trying to fix it. We even went as far as to do a restore to factory on the phone and could not get any signal bars on the phone so I returned it to Walmart and they did give me a new Galaxy Core Prime...I had it for approx 2 months and the signal bars disappeared on the phone....again I spent hours on the phone with Straight talk and could not get it to work again. I called Samsung and was told they have a contract with straight talk to let straight talk fix the phones so they couldn't and wouldn't help me...so again I called straight talk and they said they would send me a package to return the phone to them and that they would send me a new Galaxy Core Prime...I ask if they could send me a different phone as I really do not want another faulty phone but they will only send me the Galaxy Core Prime as a replacement...I recommend that you do not buy this phone as it is a piece of junk!!!

I have had this phone almost a year now at first i thought i was going to love the galaxy core prime i was wrong. It was ok for the first month or so until it started getting really hot and saying sims card not detected restart phone it did not do the phone no justices to restart it cause it did not fix it you did better takeing the battery out and sims card out. The phone got worse at the sims card not detected thing when i would get on youtube or i could not finshes any thing. It started doing the sims thing when i tryed to make phone calls. Not only that it started flashing when i tryed to push numbers to make a phone call. I understand its not walmarts fault the phone is like it is. By far worst phone i have ever had in my life. If i new what i new now i would have not bought it $99.00 its not worth the price.

I have had a few Straight Talk phones and this has to be the worst one. It is a 4G LTE phone that if I'm lucky get 3G from when in town. Its constantly popping up with a network anomalies and not working like it should. I live just 5 min south of the store I bought it from and I can't get any data at all and most times its just 1bar on the signal strength. I got a hold of straight talk and told them what phone I had and that Verizon has the worst service in our area and that its like a dead zone at my house. They said they would send me a different sim for it that would allow me to use AT&T towers to which I get great signal no matter where I am then tell me after getting it that I can't use the chip because it is a locked phone. Seriously its your phone and a new chip from your company. Not like I'm going to a different one. Well I am now that I can't get the phone to work right. What a waste of money.
