I know there have been questions about if this is a GSM or CDMA phone - this is a CDMA phone. It has no Straight Talk logo on it either, only Samsung. Has typical Samsung built in apps (some bloatware, some just utility apps), but no stupid carrier apps.
Great phone.....ease of use, great camera for photos and outstanding speed. Nothing i can say negative about this phone at all very very pleased ! Definitely would recommend this phone!
I upgraded from the S4 to the S7. I absolutely love it. It is super fast no matter what I'm doing. Takes great pictures and is easy to get set up. So far NO negatives.
same size as the s5. Heavy tho. you can get use to it. fast but of course its still new. I like the idea of a larger micro chip that you have a choice to use. I don't use all the bells and whistles in it, so I cant commit on them. I am a Samsung fan. I just hope that the unreplaceable battery last a long time. I have dropped it already, and very happy to say, its still good. no dents or breaks.
I have had this phone for about one month and can't say enough good things about it. When I bought my first smartphone 2 years ago, I passed on a Samsung for reasons I no longer remember. But almost immediately I began regretting my decision. So when my plan was up, I promptly went to the store and bought the S7. The battery life is outstanding in "power save" mode. I barely notice that some features are not running in background. I get through the day with power to spare. The camera is my favorite application on this phone. The shutter lag is almost zero, so action shots of sports and pets are predictable and blur free (see attached "dog in flight"). The colors are true without adjustment. The built-in photo editing tools contain everything most casual photographers could want. I operate mostly in a wifi environment indoors, but when I'm outside, the 4G kicks in without a hitch. The fact that we live on a lake makes the waterproof feature a real plus. I've operated the camera while wading neck deep in the water and during a heavy rain. My wet fingers were no problem for the touch screen.
Great phone and ease of use. Had an S5 before but needed new one as the S5 from previous carrier wouldn't work. Also bought the year plan right away and now saving almost $30 a month. Would highly recommend.
This phone is great. I was going to switch service providers because of the problems I had been having. But I'm glad I didn't. The phone solve all of my problems.
Samsung pay works great on this phone, I've used it everywhere I can, it works great even in places that don't take any normal payments with just a press of my finger. The battery lasts about a day of moderate use. Can't wait to try the Gearvr when it comes through a promotion. In my area it runs through Verizon.
I love Galaxy phones so finally made the jump from my S4 to the S7 after confirming with the sales associate that this would run off of Verizon towers, the map on the front is the red Verizon map, not the blue T-Mobile one and from I see online people many say it runs on Verizon towers. NO it does not. I got it all set up, everything from my S4 switched to it and can't even make a phone call without it dropping every few minutes. I'm running on the edge, this is why I switched from T-Mobile 2 years ago to Straight talk because I couldn't keep a signal with TM at my house. Now I have a $600 paperweight unless I want to change to port my phone # and everything back over to my S4 and try to get a refund on this one. With my S4 on Verizon towers I keep a full 4G signal anywhere inside my house or around town. With T-Mobile I get little to no signal inside and spotty coverage until I'm 10 miles one way and 20 miles the other way. Total waste of money. THIS IS A T-MOBILE PHONE NOT A VERIZON PHONE. No matter what others are telling you or what color of map is on the box.
I purchased this unlocked phone in March 2017. Just 4 months after the warranty expired, a half of the screen turned grey or glitched. I used to have another Samsung phone, Note 3 that had lasted just right beyond warranty coverage period. This is the second time their products only survive long enough not to be responsible under warranty coverage. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
