They're YUM! I eat at least one every day and sometimes two. The dressing is sage, like mom made. The turkey is pureed white meat, shaped into slices, but it's still white meat turkey. I keep a can of cranberry sauce in the fridge and it lasts 2 or 3 dinners. Now I have thanksgiving dinner every day... and for CHEAP! ► NOTE: You MUST add salt and pepper to this or it will taste bland!! Also, the gravy (which is delish) is slightly like a gel until you stir it into the dressing. Then it's great! HINT: If you have a weak microwave, (700W), heat it for 60 secs with the paper sleeve still on and without making a vent hole. The intense steam pressure makes it VERY hot and saves about 45 seconds of heating time. Yes, sometimes the pressure will cause a "pop" sound. But since the paper sleeve is there holding the plastic sheet on tight, nothing spills. It just doesn't matter.
I have several favorites of the Compleats and this is one of them. It is cooked perfectly and tastes wonderful. I also like the eggs and bacon, and chicken and mashed potatoes, and beef tips and mashed potatoes. Overall quality is very high. The price is reasonable for such well prepared food.
Was surprised how good it was. Honestly was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Have orderd several times now. A quick meal when you don't feel like cooking. Have bought several times, like to keep a few on hand for a fast filling meal.
I glanced through the reviews and no one mentioned my question so here it goes. this really is fairly good. first bite I took to try the turkey. yup, it's actually meat. second bite I tried the stuffing. yup, it tastes like stuffing. third bite I tried a bit of both and I got something crunchy. no flavor, just crunchy. I started sorting through the meal and found small bits that looked like potatoes. so I checked the ingredients: chestnuts. why??? it doesn't completely ruin the meal, but when you're eating turkey and stuffing, you don't expect such a little crunchy thing here and there. please someone tell me why???
For some reason, whomever delivered these meals from Walmart had them in a plastic bag and put the bag on top of (instead of inside) a very large black, heavy duty black storage box marked “PACKAGES”. So instead of keeping the items dry, the wet melting snow from the roof dripped onto the bag for 8 hours until my brother-in-law got home from work. The meals were then frozen solid
First time buying. NEVER AGAIN! Turkey had the texture of a reformed piece of spam and almost no flavor. The stuffing was just a soggy mess with minimal seasoning. The gravy was the only thing tolerable and not by much. Not a fluke as all 3 we purchased were the same.
The attached original picture description has multiple slices of turkey, the product delivered is one piece of turkey and doesn't appear to a slice, maybe a mixture of turkey products? NOT as advertised, I guess an old picture.
My husband likes the Compleats meals, so I try to keep his faves on hand. I bought him 4 of the Turkey and Dressing today... opened and heated one up for him...... and he took 1 bite and almost gagged. It's ruined... like soured or bad meat. It was sealed when I opened it, so I know it hadn't been sitting opened on the shelf. All have the same lot %23 and expiration date: P18769 09/11/24 Maybe a bad batch?? May be something that Hormel should check into. Will be starting a return on these.
would give zero stars if i could. disgusting all around. i like a hormel meals, so i mistakenly thought I would like this. it's a disgusting mush excuse for stuffing with an awful texture and no flavor. the turkey for whatever reason was bright red and pink. cooked, but still weird soft texture. overall this was a fail and i do not recommend.
my husband loves these meals, i saw the turkey and dressing and was excited i love turkey and dressing. it was a big flop for me. the picture was very misleading. it shows a few pieces of turkey, but it's a big blob of some kind of meat. the dressing, not sure what that was. good thing it didn't cost more than a couple of bucks. my dogs liked it, tho. will not buy this one again
