I bought one of these thinking my picky daughter could try it. She loved it! I've bought 4 more since and they're all gone. Great for a quick meal, lunches, very tasty!
My 24 gear old daughter loves these. I havent tried it yet but she said they're like hot pockets but way better. She's never had a real Calzone before though haha. She's always been a picky eater but randimly ordered herself this on our account, so that must say something of abe likes it. I will let you know what I think the next time we order them. I hope this means that she will try a fresh one from a real italian moms and pops restaurant sometime.
This cost about twice as much as a hot pocket, but are absolutely worth it. It's worthwhile investing 15 minutes in baking these in an oven rather than using a microwave. (I used a toaster oven.) The result tastes almost like it's fresh from a pizzeria. Highly recommended.
Many reviewers are giving bad reviews only because they don't know what a Calzone is supposed to be. They are meant to be dipped into a bowl of marinara sauce before each bite! You can't do better than the 8 oz cans of Hunts tomato sauce with basil, garlic and oregano. Tasty and thick, one can is enough for 2 or 3 calzones. The pepperoni is mild compared to pizza pepperoni but I find it savory and the generous amount of cheese is stretchy and chewy the way it should be. I microwave for 90 seconds then place in a toaster oven at 350 for ten minutes. If you don't brown it a bit it may have an undercooked dough texture. Basting with oil or butter may help, never tried it. I reserve 5 stars for a freshly made calzone from a kitchen or deli. This is far better than any frozen stuff with thin soggy crusts.
They were a greta value like most Walmart products but like another review had stated, they have shrunk overnight and the price has risen again. I don't mind paying more if they remain their original size, but they are no longer a great value.
The calzone is very bland - almost tasteless. I wouldn't recommend, and definitely wouldn't buy again.
the filling was ok, but there was so little and only in the middle, had to eat so much beead until finally fiund sone keat and cheese. put more meat and cheese in then its a 3 or 4
My family and I really enjoyed these till over night they shrunk see picture this is ridiculous. They literally did this over night bc I still had one from my previous order the day before. The pepperonis are non existent now when they was huge the cheese is a joke. I'm very disappointed and will never purchase again. This is greed!! Shame on you!!
