I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Holiday Sewing Contest. I've had this machine for over 10 years. I received it as a gift from my grandmother when I was in high school in a sewing class. I've used it ever since. I've made purses, clothes, pillow cases, blankets... the list goes on. Ive used it to alter countless dresses of mine and my friends when we were bridesmaids over the years. I've never owned a serger the only one I've had the pleasure of using was in my class at school so to finish my projects I've learned to use a French seam. The photos I'm including are of the formal gowns I made one for prom in high school the other for the marine corps ball with my husband, and a photo of two blankets I made for my daughters when they were born. Their names were hand stitched on. I absolutely love this machine but I am really in need of a new one, but really how could you beat 10+ years of great use. I'll definitely be getting another brother machine.
Love it. I grew up in Australia and got a D- on my home ec test because i couldnt wrap my brain around threading the machine! I borrowed another persons machine a few years back to try and give it another go, it was a terrible disaster, too much to figure out! Then i said- well if i buy my own- then ill be forced to work it out because i spent the money. I did lots of research and everyone said great things about this 'beginner' machine. I sat myself down, read and reread the instructions and in one hour I had threaded the machine all by myself! Not just that, but thanks to the diagram on the actual machine, i now thread it without instructions and it only takes me a few minutes! I conquered my fear and in a few weeks have made three purses and two dresses! Dont give up and get this great, affordable, easy to understand machine, its great! ps, my sister just bought one on my recommendation
I am posting this review as part of my entry in Wal-Mart's Holiday Sewing contest. I received my machine free not knowing much about it other than it was a Brother. I have heard many good things about Brother machines and now I know why. It's easy to use. Starter friendly. It has basic stitches for simple projects. It comes with an accessory kit holding a zipper foot, button hole foot, darning plate, extra needles (includes a double needle for fancy stitches)& bobbins, screw driver. Going to Wal-Mart today for more material. Included pic of Bible cover made last night. First time quilting...easy and loved it. Great starter machine.
I have 5 machines, 4 of which are Brothers. This machine is also easy to maintain which is very important. When I have something heavy duty to sew I turn to this machine. It will sew though Jeans, upholstery material. I have even made truck seats with it. I love to sew and do a lot of it. I noticed in some of the reviews of some of the machines including this one, that the obvious problem was that they either didn't wind the bobbin correctly and slowly or that they put the bobbin in wrong. In the bottom or side loading bobbin carriages the bobbin goes in with thread going in one direction and in the top drop loading bobbin carriage it goes in the opposite direction. I have finally learned through the years that using the correct bobbin for your machine and filling and loading correctly is so important so read your manual closely and you will have a more enjoyable experience. I am including a picture of 3 of my machines, one of which is a digital. I prefer the mechanical machine for heavy duty work. You will also find that using Jigs and attachments that are appropriate makes the experience more fun. I am always so excited and proud when I finish a project. Also the serger pictured is a Janome.
I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Holiday Sewing Contest. I love my brother ls2125i sewing machine I can do almost anything with it. I have created stuffed animals, blankets, clothing, and mended pillows, blankets, and clothing with it. One of my best projects I created with this sewing machine was a stuffed turkey complete with embroidery on the stomach which I simply used the button hole functions to created the letters for the embroidery and also to embroider pads onto the turkey's feet. It turned out perfectly!!!
I am posting this review as part of my entry in Walmart's Holiday Sewing Contest. Great for beginners, easy to thread, this little high quality machine can get most any job done. The case makes it wonderfully portable and easy to store. The first thing I ever made on this Brother 10 Stitch Portable LS-2125i were curtains for my kitchen (pictured below). After that I was bitten by the sewing bug and haven't stopped sewing since! This Brother machine has turned me into such an avid sewer that in the past year I've begun sewing aprons for everyone I know, and am taking lessons to become a tailor. It seems like a smart thing to do, since as soon as people learned I could sew they began asking me to hem, alter, and mend things. I have an amazing home studio in my basement- it's the Brother sewing room! I also purchased a Brother serger which I use a lot as well, but I still do most of my basic sewing and all of my topstitching on the Brother LS-2125i. What I love most about this sewing machine is it's ease in use and how simple it is to change out the bottom and top threads. Although this machine is no-frills, it isn't lacking anything, especially considering the price and portability. As I keep progressing in my craft I will definitely be purchasing more sophisticated Brother machinery, but will always keep this sturdy, practical LS-2125i around for its sheer handiness.

It is very user friendly and is very capable of completing all of my projects. I sew and test children's clothing patterns and this machine is great with all the diffrient stitch options it offers. I never gave to worry about the quality of my finshed products the easy adjustment dials make it simple to correct tension issues and make every stitch perfect. I have never had any trouble with anything breaking on it. It is a great buy for someone who sews everyday but don't want to spend a ton of money on a machine.
I wanted a machine that was not computerized with simple instructions and limited stiches and that it was I received. I am very pleased with this Brother sewing machine - the accesssories are great and the bobbin is easy to set up if you follow the instructions closely.
I just need a machine to make curtains, pillows, hems and minor repairs to clothing. I am not a big sewer. I didn't want to spend a lot of money. This machine does what I need and more at a great price. I have not had it long. I have made two pairs of curtains already and it works very well. It was very easy to get up and running. It doesn't appear to be as sturdy as my last machine which was almost 35 years old when it gave out. It is made with thinner plastic. The pedal concerns me the most in terms of how long it might last. We shall see how it holds up. It is nice and light which is good for putting it away on the closet shelf when not in use.

I purchased the Brother 10-Stitch Portable Sewing Machine, LS-2125i to finish my sewing projects while I visit family. I choose this sewing machine because its affordable, light weight and user friendly for beginner user. The basic sewing function makes it possible to sew simple stitches and zig-zag I needed for the mask and cape I'm making for my little superheros. When i'm done I will leave this machine with my little sister since she is interested in learning how to sew. Plus I can use it whenever I come visit her.
