Did a bunch of research before purchasing this machine. It has a TON of features, which is amazing for the price eg. lots of different "feet" used for sewing different things like blind hems, zippers, rolled hems, etc. Didn't even know these existed until this. I'm a beginner sewer, and for the price, I'd say that this machine is full of functions. I've had no problems with the machine so far and find it works well. I will have to update my review in the future if anything changes. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't come with a hard case. I had to buy this extra for $25. The "case" that comes with this is just a soft piece of material that you put over the machine (it has no bottom), so it's not ideal if you want to transport your machine, and I don't think it protects from dust very well either. (People said protecting from dust is important to keep the machine running smoothly). Overall I love it though.
After buying and returning another brand's machine I purchased this and let me say how impressed I am with it. VERY EASY setup! It was up and running in 5 minutes. The needle threader actually works. Tension was not a concern at all. All this and it has many better features that the name brand machine did not. Impressively easy to operate.
I am just the beginner in sewing and I already did a few repairs and alterations for myself and my family and enjoyed every moment of it. I even bought some silk material as a leftover in the store and made myself a few silk pillowcases. I plan to make some scarfs and maybe even something more complicated later on. This machine is so easy to use and the instruction in the book is easy to understand, it is very well made machine with lots of options for beginners like me it is more than enough. If you are experienced in that art maybe you need more complicated one.
Had to Change tension when quilting. Did a lot of taking out stitches. Had to remove the darning plate when using the quilting foot. It broke the top thread too often. The walking foot worked fine, but had to adjust the tension. Had a lot of taking out stitches. Guess that is the learning curve?? Loved the FREE shipping! We are isolated and the cost of driving to the nearest center makes this FREE shipping sooo attractive. Thank you. Shall definitely shop Walmart again. I have told friends of your wonderful service.
