A solid, basic set of wires, complete with yardstick and carry tube. Great price, too!
I ordered the set of Knit & Lace Blocking wires after seeing them used on a video. Walmart had the best price and free shipping to the store. They arrived within a few days and I got a text message notification. The tube they come in is great for storage. I have used the rigid wires on a lace project and was very pleased with the ease of blocking. I just wove the wires through the knitted edges and pinned the wires to a foam mat. I had to use a few more T-Pins than were included in the kit. In the past I would have to place pins every half inch and sometimes had pulled stitches and uneven edges. The wires were a real time-saver and the results were smooth and symmetrical! I will probably re-block some of my previous projects. I would definitely recommend this kit!
Used this several times already for projects. Works well and as stated. All packaging contents are in a reusable storage tube as stated; works very well. Projects look beautiful and professional. Gets rid of the scalloped edge look that occurs when using pins alone. This has been a very useful and great purchase. Wish I'd purchased it earlier.
Got this as a gift. I've used it a few times and it works great for its intended job. The yardstick is a bit rough, but I was able to easily sand any snags. Love the cardboard tube its packaged in, perfect for storing it and keeping everything together.
This kit is exactly what I needed. The quality is good. It's the same set available elsewhere at a higher price. The wires make a huge difference when blocking. They're easy to use, and they keep seams perfectly straight. I haven't used the flexible wires yet, but I don't expect any problems. I wish I had purchased this set a long time ago!
I have been knitting for about 40 years (since I was a kid), and one of the most time consuming jobs was blocking. With this blocking kit, I was able to block an entire baby sweater at one time, using the wires and most of the included pins, rather than hundreds of my sewing pins like I have done in the past. I can get straighter edges, and I look forward to many more years of blocking my knitting using this kit. The included instructions are clear and concise, and the wires are really easy to use. Simply thread the wires through the edges of your damp knitted piece and use the included pins to stretch the piece out via the wires to the correct size. Wait for it to dry completely, and presto! a nice, squared-up, flat piece of knitting with no curled edges. Much easier to sew together.
I knit lace shawls and scarves, both of which rely on blocking to bring out their beauty. Using pins takes forever, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on a wire kit. I was so surprised to find this product online at Walmart.com. It was exactly what I was looking for. I used the wires immediately and I'm really pleased with how easy it was to bock my latest triangular lace shawl. The kit was so affordable! I'm completely satisfied with my purchase.
This set contains plenty of wires for the average knitter. Also, included are thoughtful accessories such as a yardstick, pins and flexible wires for curved pieces. They can be stored in the sturdy packaging tube. It could use more pins, but otherwise, nice set of equipment.
I was so excited to finally get a set of these wires. I had heard about them on all the knitting sites, and could hardly wait to try them out. But I was disappointed in them when one of them bent with merely the stress of being held by one end. Maybe that's the trade-off for having such thin and easy-to-use wires. If you've just ordered some, and you aren't sure, I would say, "Go ahead and get excited! They do make a world of difference."
Delivery - longer than I imagined. The other half of my order arrived several days before this item. Packing, great. I received six long wires and two shorter, thinner ones. I do believe this is less than itemised in the description I ordered from. The ends are a bit rough, which makes threading them quite a tense business. It does get easier with experience, though.
