I have one of these in every vehicle I own. Great for emergency use.
I got stuck at Sam's of all places. With the way the van was parked there was no way to jump it without trying to back out the car and block others. A very kind gentleman walked up with this item, clamped it on like jumper cables and told me to start the car. It started right up! When I got home I order 3 of them. We haven't had to use them yet. But I think it was a good buy. Also we may run into someone who happens to be in a situation like I was. It's hand held and can charge just about everything. Great to have especially when the weather is bad or people forget to close doors fully and such.
2004 dodge grand caravan. purposely ran my battery down so I could test this bad boy. Worked like a charm! Twice. It came with a 98% charge, but I followed instructions and charged it fully before using it the first time. I did not charge it for the second jump but it had plenty of juice to start my van the second time anyway. It even comes with a power port charger so you can charge it back up while driving, if you're on a trip. The bad reviews I don't understand. Great little jumper at a very reasonable price. highly recommended.
This item was super cool it has helped me to start my car when the battery was down and out I also like it because it charges cell phones and other devices
I worked as a valet manager for several casinos where MANY cars had dead batteries and was leary about this being too small to jump larger engines but it was able to iump my friends 8.0 disel engine and it fired right up. Not sure if people arenât using it properly but I have been nothing but happy with it.
Great little product for the money. I had a completely drained battery in my car . Once I received it I took out of the box and charge it up to 100 percent and it jump started my car the first try.
The overhead light was left on in my 2012 Honda Civic, which completely drained the battery. I bought this to try out, and charged it for a few hours before testing it. as soon as I clamped the connectors to my battery, before I even switched it on, my car lights came on. the smart connector was still blinking, instead of the steady green when you turn it on, but my car started right up, so I disconnected the clamps and went on my way. one thing I've noticed, after recharging it all night, (I forgot to turn the switch to on), was that it said 100%, but after removing the charger, dropped after a few minutes back to 63%, which is where it was after jumping my car last night. I plugged it back in, switched it to 'on', and the percentage immediately started climbing back to 100%. not sure if it a defect, or not, but it makes it very difficult to know if it's fully charged or not when you check-in on the charging process.
something inside my jump starter was rattling around. I wanted to know the cause of it, so I disassembled it. (doing so could be extremely unsafe if any of the battery connections short out). Turns out, that two different things were loose. A small screw that was suppose to hold down the PCB for the LCD display was stripped out, and just rattling around inside the case. This could cause potential fire if it made contact with the BATTERY header and shorted out one of the lithium battery cells. Also, a piece of a ferrite component from the main PCB had broken off. Which I have no explanation of how/why it could have chipped off. I'm not sure if it could short anything out,...but can't see how it would have broken off to begin with. I also noticed a capacitor with extremely long bare wires, (just seems like this could short out also if the device was dropped wrong,...or a screw came loose). I have yet needed the chance to try out the Everstart jump starter. But now, it will not get used.
worked great 2 times before it stopped charging. now as soon as you plug it in the batter goes from 60% to 100% in about 10 seconds and never charges.
I purchased this specifically to charge a small hand held radio from the 12/16/19 Volt Output Jack. The radio draws less than 500 milliamps. It works for about 5 seconds and then turns itself off. It will stay on if you have something running off one of the USB ports. I hope I can find the receipt for this poorly designed item.
