This easy-to-install unit allows for the speakers to be converted to line-level AND still retain the leads for the existing speakers if you choose. The number of adjustments on this adapter can look intimidating but everything is preset to a factory standard and their are instructions if you want to adjust gain levels. No mounting kits comes with, so buy a velcro strip and just put it wherever you want this small box to stay. Excellent signal clarity with NO external noise pick-up from my electircal system.
The product does what it supposed to do. I used to replace a dead Bose radio, tape and CD player from my 94 Nissan. I added a relay as suggested in other websites to command the antenna and the amplifiers, but overall was a simple task to do.
I had to convert speaker level from an powered intercom to line level for paging over a whole house audio system that's paging input was very tempermental. I used other devices but always got a lot of AV noise that was so bad not even a ground loop isolator worked. This device did the trick. I would imagine it would work equally well for car audio as I have never had so much dificultly as I had with the paging device! Best thing about it is there are 4 inputs and 4 outputs (RCA for front L&R rear L&R) and each has a built in ground loop isolation tranformer AND level attenuators to match the sound. A Very nice design indeed! Plus it works better than another model that looked like a more expensive version but didn't work for me.
I bought this to convert the high signals from my factory radio to low level for my amp. At first it seemed okay. Things hooked up, what seemed correct. Now i come to find that its giving me alot of static. Also i hooked up my right front speaker inputs and they dont even work. The circuit board inside moves in the case which can cause issues. They say not to over tighten the screws... well if you dont, the wires just fall out. Its so cheap. I picked it up and 2 of the screws that were screwed in, fell out. And for someone with big fingers, its so hard to get the screws back in. It seems that alot of people dont have any issues with this... maybe i have a defected one... just be aware...
