Got this diamond wheel last week. I used it to remove grout that was about 1/32" thick. It worked perfectly and I did not have to use water to cool the blade.
I used this tool for scoring, cutting, and sanding tile edges and it worked great! It completely exceeded my expectations. It came in so handy for detailed cuts I was making for a mountain mosaic for my kitchen backsplash. It was also super helpful for creating rounded cuts. Its durability has been great, too! Not only did it provide me the ability to do great detailed work but it is still going strong and is ready for my next project. I used it at 10k rpm with no water and never saw the glowing red or deformity that some people talk about. Would not have wanted to do my project without it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I‘be been using one of these since1970, need I say more?!!! The smoothest blade ever!!!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mine are EZ-Lock 1 1/2"ers, instead of 1", but I'll tell you this, they'll cut through nickel (the metal, not the coin, which is harder than regular steel) when the fiberglass reinforced cutting wheels just won't anymore & start powder/"vaporizing" into dust. I know this 'cause they're what I wound up having to use when fabricating my own custom sized diamond stones from stock sized ones & that's what happened, & they're what I needed to be able to finish the "project", glad I got 'em or I would've wound up having to wait another week or 2 for some to arrive! To sum it up, these are the most hard-core cutting wheels they make. If these don't work, you might need an angle edge grinder..., #100 !
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I but this almost every time I get a chance to. I just bought one about two months ago and it is still going strong. I cut wood and metal with it mainly and glass. It is so nice and precise with cuts
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried to mistakenly use a regular cutting wheel to cut through wood. Yeah don't do that it's just going to burn your wood and tool up. Get the DIAMOND Wheel. It has cut out holes to reliever temperature build up and provide a very nice clean cut.
I have been using these for a couple of years. I work with recycle almuninum can items. I built a special table for my dremel that I can set to cut off the ends of cans really quick and easy and before I couldn't get through a dozen cans with the other cutoff wheels but these last forever. I even use it for other small cutting jobs. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
First, don't use on wood or metal (like the other reviewers) - that's not what it's for and Dremel says so. I used this to score/cut glass tile. Worked fairly well. Dremel says NOT to use water because it may work its way into the motor, but honestly, a little sprayed on judiciously would have helped and kept blade from burning. I ran 3500 rpm. Go slow, clamp down the piece you're cutting. Score both sides. Thick glass will break clean, usually.
the first blade i bought, i felt i got my money s worth, now i am into my fourth blade, and with each blade i am getting less and less cutting. the last one i bought barely cut small pieces, it was dull right away. this is fairly big project so i knew i would be spending a few dollars on blades.i also noticed that the last package said made in china. could it be dremel has TWO QUALITIES OF PRODUCTS? i would recommend with explanation.
I used the recommended model 545 to cut a around a few door jams and burned thru two blades and still not done. Do not use this product on ceramic tile. Was not satisfied.
