I would highly recommend this product it was safe and easy to use. I did not want a gas or electric saw and this is battery operated. The directions were easy to follow. I have already used my saw and it was worth the price. I would recommmend this for use for a beginner,experienced and the professional.
I was spending allot of money having someone trim my large evergreen trees. Between the B&D 18v extended trimmer and this 18v saw I was able to trim and top them myself. In one year I saved over $100.00 by buying the B&D trimmer and saw.
It was able to cut up to 6 inch diameter branches. Cordless makes it easier to maneuver. Agree w/ other posts that you can get a solid hour of cutting, then you need to switch out battery, so buy an extra battery. It's not too loud and the reach is quite high. Great buy.
I have several B&D 18-volt products and this has been a great add to my collection. It works very well for my needs. Two of my friends came over and tried it and are going to get one for themselves.
This pole pruning saw, to my surprise, has lots of power. I've used it to cut down a dead 20 foot tree and made short work of it. The battery doesn't last as long as I expected and takes about six hours to recharge. I recommend buying a second battery. I like the overall quality and feel of the saw, and the carrying pouch is a nice touch.
Happy with this unit. Already paid for itself in the first month and expect heavier use after fall fruit harvest in small home orchard. Easy to use, but suggest practice with short pole before going to the long pole. Might be take a little practice with the long pole, but very workable. Good luck with yours, I like mine.
Battery need to charge 9 hours and only lasts 25 minutes TOPS. Good for trimming tree branches but pole bows if you press hard. Not good for thick parts of shrubbery (what I bought it for) -can do it but very difficult and the cut is rough and ragged looking. ok for price. not too impressed but beats manual limb removal.
I am a female in my 60's and needed something, besides a hand saw and ladder, to trim branches. This saw is perfect! I seems so easy to use. I was afraid at first since I have never done this, but now I look for branches to cut off and cut up. I use it on oak and eucalyptus and it does great. Fortunately, it's battery and my battery last about the same length of time.
IF YOUR DONE CUTTING SIX EIGHT BRANCHES THIS IS NICE. SIX HOURS TO CHARGE PER BATTERY. TOOK BACK GOT ELECTRIC 10" REMMINGTON MUCH BETTER!!! RAN 5 HOURS PICK UP FULL OF WOOD TOOK OFF POLE CUT STUMPS SHARPENED ONCE FOR DAY TWO SWIPES PER TOOTH. CORD IS A PAIN BUT CUT ALL DAY. I AM DISABLED CAN NOT STOOP, SO CAN CUT ON GROUND WITH OUT BENDING GREAT.
Charge only allowed sawing time of about 20 minutes before you had to charge again for another 9 hours. Couldn't handle even 1.5inch branches. Already returned.
