In the past I've used LG Optimus phones and paid around $130 for them, but after you install FaceBook and Messenger there is no space for anything else. This phone has plenty of space for my apps and music. Even Installed the Wal-mart Savings Catcher app and have saved $7.00 dollars on my everyday Walmart purchases so far.
I have been a T-Mobile prepaid customer for over 10 years who always wanted to have an affordable prepaid smartphone to upgrade from a regular cell phone. I was pleasantly surprised that I have found the Samsung Galaxy Avant phone here on this website for an affordable price. Many cell phone stores that I encountered on my search requires prepaid customers to pay an astronomical price for a prepaid smartphone and switch to an expensive data plan.. This phone is a great value, it does a lot of things that many of the more expensive phones do. I was also pleasantly surprised that all my apps and music from my Samsung tablet has automatically synced with my new smartphone.
I picked up two of these phones on a gamble to see if they would work for my teens. The size is perfect for them, not too big and not small at all. The screen is an upgrade to them, but not as big as the S4 or S5 screens, but it is still very nice. The audio is good enough, but my kids use headphones anyways to listen to their music, movies or other streaming media. The network connectivity within the house on WiFi is superb. I recently signed up to receive a T-Mobile Personal CellSpot router (for free) and the videos they watch are instant on. Not much loading time at all. The OS is KitKat and is very easy to use. Haven't seen any issues with it. The newer games on the Google Play Store are now able to run on this phone. The battery life is not awful. I have noticed that once it is charged (turned off) to 100%, once I turn it on, by the time it loads up I now have 98% battery. My kids have their phone all day with them, though they can't use it much during school, when they get home they still have 80% or better battery life. One of my teens was playing games, watching movies and just using it to the max capacity and after about 8 hours, he was needing a charge. Overall, great phone for the price. Only CONS I have with it is that it is hard to find cases for it. I had to go online to find a case for this particular phone. The local T-Mobile store had only one case available and it was for about $30 and awful colors. I picked up two cases online for $10 each and came with a kickstand, stylus and screen protector. That week of waiting for the package to arrive was hard as the teens were being very careful not to scratch their phones.

Great phone. Fast, plenty of storage, nice screen, good signal and call quality. Usually don't need to put the screen brightness over 1/4. Without having the screen on, I easily get almost 3 full days on standby with WiFi on. Features include WiDi/Miracast screen mirroring, and NFC w/S Beam. Battery is removable. It seems to be a pretty good deal for less than 1/2 of what an S4 or S5 costs. I'd have no reason to upgrade to an S model phone unless I was planning to use it as my primary camera since they have better camera sensors. My only gripe is that all these newer phones seem to put the screen-lock/power button on the opposite side of the volume button, so when I hold the phone in one hand and try to adjust the volume the counter pressure makes me lock my phone.
I upgraded from my Samsung Galaxy s Blaze, love this phone, screen is bright, camera is good, I have a regular camera, so just use if I forget it, I love that the screen is bigger, but not too big, and all the extra features it has from my blaze, and it is a good price, I don't have the money to spend $600+ for a phone, and even if I did, i would never spend that on a phone, ever, this phone fits my needs perfectly. Thanks Samsung you did a great job for making an affordable phone for people :)
I went from a Lumina windows phone to the Samsung Galaxy Avant. The Samsung is by far a better phone for the money!! The Samsung has more features and more apps are available for the Android operating system. I like the rear camera w/flash and also the features of the front camera. There storage is expandable up to 64 gigs so you have plenty of room for photos etc. The controls are easy to operate and well placed. The sound is clear and the volume is acceptable.. For the price I don't think you will go wrong.
I am VERY stubborn about sticking the same product. As we know, phones change quickly. My Samsung (the original 1,of over 4 years) finally quit. I hated the idea of learning a new phone. This phone was super easy to transition to, even from a dinosaur as old as mine! It has so many new features, that will be interesting to the younger generation, very easy to use. For the complaints about the battery dying so quickly, it has the battery saver feature built in. I am not a guru in any way when it comes to phones, but as soon as I saw that, and turned it on, the phone lasts all day with extensive use, or two days with just texting and some talking and surfing the web. I've recommended this phone to, and they have bought and are happy with, several of my friends aging from 27-53!
The user interface operates about the same as the Galaxy s4 I had just before this. some of the features like the samsung air swipe and hands free mode are not on this device but it does have s voice personal assistant which is nice and there are other hands free apps you can download ad out there. The screen is a little narrower which makes the phone easier to hold with one hand while texting which I wanted. The camera has the same software for the most part but its nothing special just like the Galaxy s4 was nothing specia.l they both had trouble taking inside photos in low light. Overall for $350 less than the s4 and a great price on the warranty at Walmart, you can't really justify going to the s4 over this song. The budget conscious buyer will appreciate the value you get from the Galaxy Avant.
The phone it self works just fine, but the protective glass cover is not Gorilla glass, and it cracks very easily. On top of that, there are no repair shops to replace the touch screen. If you crack your screen, you're out $150.00, unless you get a 2 year warrantee. The rubber bumper cases will not protect you from cheap glass.
