This is my first smartphone, having had a flip phone for the past 8 years. This phone does everything I want it to do, and it's perfect for me.
It's my first smart phone at age 60. It was easy to figure out. Haven't figured out everything on it yet but I have family and friends who have been helping me with that. Or sometimes if I have a question I just google and get the answer simple as that. The only downside is that the battery life is pretty short. I find myself charging the thing every couple of days or so. Other than that I have no complaints. It's a good little phone.
Wanted a smart phone and read all the reviews. Decided this was the best one for my needs. Could not purchase it through Tracfone in my area so I ordered it online and had it shipped. Have had a Tracfone for several years and transferred my phone# and minutes balance to it with no problem at all by following the Tracfone website. One thing I do miss is having the amount of minutes and the date to purchase air time by right in front of me when I unlock the phone. You have to go into the Tracfone app to get that. One other thing was the battery life it can really use up the power unless you use it with Wi-Fi. There is an "ultra power saving mode" under settings that can be used and works well for the times you just need certain options on like phone or messaging. Takes really good photos and videos. I also purchased the 64 memory card for storage and being a quad core it is really fast on downloads and apps.
I have owned everything from flip phones to other android phones and the Samsung Galaxy Core Prime is by far the best. My only qualm, and it's a small one, is that it's a little hard to answer a call because the little green "answer" icon is just kind of random and a little too close to the "ignore" icon. My other phone had a little designated space to drag the green "answer" icon to. It usually takes me two or three tries before I can actually answer my phone. But like I said, it's a small problem compared to the problems I had with my last phone. I can actually hear the person calling, which is a plus, and they can hear me. It works great with my Blue Tooth headset. The flashlight app is awesome, the camera is high-quality and I can get on the Internet easily, with no lag time on Facebook or any other website. I also use the Facebook Messenger app, which I love. The battery holds a charge for a good long time, unlike my last phone, which had to be charged daily, sometimes twice a day. I really don't have any gripes with this phone. My wife and daughter both have the same phone, and they love theirs as well. I'm REALLY glad I found it at Wal Mart, because I saved a good $20. You can't go wrong with Galaxy Core Prime!
Upgraded to this from tracfone samsung galaxy centura. This one is, of course, got a bigger screen which is always nice and more features. Main thing I think is different is that this is the first phone I've had, and they've all been tracfones, is that it is always connected to the Internet, whether through my home router, which my previous phone couldn't do or wireless outside home. It does it automatically. Which is amazing to me as to connect before, i had do it manually every time. Need tracfone app also with this one to add minutes and check how much you got left.
Ordered on line. Then found cheaper at a competitor. Walmart credited the difference, which was great. When the phone came, it was set in Viet Namese. No problem if you read that language but hard to switch over when all the screens are indecipherable. Then it took about 3 more days of my and walmart's phone expert trying to get service on the phone. Tracfone overnighted a new SIM, and I have been enjoying this phone ever since. Only been operational 9 days but its features are a lot of fun. My original number and minutes that can be used for calls, data and texts all rolled over so the switch was economical too.
I bought this phone as an upgrade to my old one. It is a Great Phone for the price and offers about all the features you would need in a Smart Phone. The auto rotate feature is great for me because it makes the keyboard big enough to type on. The battery life is much better than my old phone and lasts several days. I was charging my old LG Phone everyday and if I forgot, then my phone was dead. It offers a very nice photo gallery too. I would recommend this phone if you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars for a Smart Phone because it has about everything you need for the price.
The phone is fine once you can get it activated. It took me two and a half hours on the phone with TrakFone before it was activated. But the minutes I had already purchased did not get credited to my account. I ended up going to the Hodgkin's Walmart and thanks to Roberto in the electronics dept. was able to get my account straightened out. When I called TrakFone after not being successful activating the phone, I spoke to one person in the Philippines who eventually acknowledged he was new. I asked to be transferred to a Supvr. or Mgr. and ended up talking to three different people in Belize, the last being Emerson, who got my phone activated, but couldn't correct the account error.
the phone is very user friendly, its the trac phone service is lacking. I tried numerous times to set up my account online and was unsuccessful. they told me the only thing to do is try another email address! how many e-mail addresses do they think people have? very disappointed!
It's an OK phone but nothing great about it. For $179 you can get a galaxy J3 which is way better, features are good and has a HD screen. The J3 is also unlocked so you can go with any carrier.
