Hi, I've had just about every Galaxy phone since the Galaxy S4, with that being said I have seen many changes both good and bad. I remember my S4 and S5 seemed almost indestructible compared to the s6 edge, s7 edge, note 7 and s8 plus, which all feel incredible in my hand but don't take a drop as well as they used to. Times change though and this s8 plus is the perfect size for me, I watch movies all the time at work. Picture quality is excellent, the device is fast and has never froze. Compared to my note 7 there are many similarities, the look and feel are very close, however we don't have the battery issue. This is also the largest s series phone Samsung has produced only .1 inches smaller than the Note 8. Unless you absolutely have to have the s pen this is basically the same phone, I would highly recommend this phone to anyone who loves a good Samsung and has to have the best new smart phone on the market.
You cannot go wrong purchasing this one. Highly recommend it.. I used to be a pure android fan but now I think I have been missing out on Samsung and will. Never look back. Great display and battery life.
It is my very first Samsung device. I switched from other well known company and I was very impressed with everything. 1) Design is amazing. 2) Great battery life (compare to other cell known company). 3) Was surprised how easy is transfer from one phone to another. 4) Water proof is great. Swam with it in Pacific and Atlantic oceans multiple times. No issues so far. 5) I love free given VR kit.

First of, the battery life is great. I use my S8+ all day for work and it lasts me a 10 hour shift with plenty life left at the end of the day. With my S6 I was charging several times a day. As usual, pictures and videos are great and even more crisper with the S8+. Unlocked option is awesome, no bloatware and the flexibility to change carriers.....I am glad I waited for the S8+.
I've been using samsung devices for as long as I can remember not actually the Samsung Galaxy s8 plus but others and I assure you they are awesome very very excellent you'll never regret buying a Samsung product. I'll actually also like to try this one.
Recently I went Kayaking and my S8+ fell in the water. The water was pretty deep but you could reach the bottom with a bit of a struggle. Anyway, I looked for my phone and couldn't find it, so I continued with the trip all sad and stuff. On the way back, 2 hours later, I tried looking for it one last time and actually found it! But the most amazing part was that my phone was working like nothing every happened. This is probably the best experience I've ever had with any phone, especially one actually does what it says it can do. Awesome job Samsung and everyone that made this phone. For those who are wondering, I have had this phone for almost a year now, I've dropped it multiple times with a case and without one (and it still survived after kayak accident). The phone hasn't crashed on me, screen hasn't cracked, but the only thing I have noticed was just the battery performance has reduced. But that makes sense considering age and use. The battery can still last me around the hole day with normal use.
The Samsung Galaxy S8+ is a beautiful phone. The AMOLED screen display makes viewing pictures and videos a much better experience than a LCD screen because it brings out all the colors. I also like about the S8+ that it is nearly completely customizable and I can store files on a SD card. There are still some apps that require storage on internal memory, but I was able to move about half of them over to the SD card. Bixby, like other voice assistants, does a pretty good job with voice commands and you are able to teach it new commands unlike some voice assistants. Another improvement over other brands is Samsung Pay. It's the only smartphone payment app that has actually worked in stores. With other payment apps that I've used the cashier would look at me strangely and ask me, "What are you doing?" when trying to pay with a smartphone. Went to the grocery store a few days ago and the cashier said, "You're paying with Samsung Pay? Yeah, that's pretty cool. It works here." Lastly, I love how it communicates seamlessly with my Samsung TV. It's fun to broadcast from my phone to the 65" tv when watching videos. That being said, there are many improvements for S8+. First, the Samsung messaging app requires the user to send texts over cellular. I like the option to send messages over Wi-Fi without having to install a 3rd party app. Another issue I have experienced is the lack of range for connecting with Bluetooth. I've noticed the range is limited to about 10 feet with Bluetooth products that have connected up to 30 feet with other products. The biggest issue I have with the S8+ is the fingerprint sensor. The fingerprint sensor is only able to capture your fingerprint if you grip the phone from the base. Unless you have very long fingers and thumbs, you have to grip the phone from near the center of the side to be able to utilize the entire screen. The fingerprint is located adjacent to the camera lens, so I end up putting my finger prints all over the camera lens when trying to use the fingerprint sensor. Then the fingerprint sensor doesn't recognize my finger because my finger has to be 100% vertical for the sensor to recognize my finger. I would recommend improving the sensor technology to recognize the side of the finger because I place my finger on the sensor in a squeezing motion at a 45 degree angle. I have to rotate my wrist so my finger is at a 90 degree angle to make the finger print sensor to work. All in all, the Samsung S8+ is a great phone, especially for the price. Just a few tweaks would make this a 5-star phone.
This is just my opinion... So, I love this phone compared to my IPhone. Performs well and I love the features and the camera is great! But!.... if you don't put a case and screen protector on it you will break it. No avoiding it. It's prone to damage with its curved design and all glass. Fell out of my pocket from a bench and it shattered the back... Come on! This is 3 days of owning it with my case coming in the mail... Also I placed it in a beach bag and somehow got a scratch deep enough on the screen you can stick your fingernail in it... So much for Gorilla glass I guess. Anyways, I love the phone. Just please put a case on it from day one.
I purchased the Samsung S8+ as a reconditioned phone which works perfectly. Only concern I have is with a small crack in the bottom right hand of the screen. I guess I expected something a little differently but everyone has a different idea of reconditioned. I originally had a Verizon Samsung S9+ but I could never get the sim card to work 100% on that phone for 9 months. Even though it was completely unlocked the firmware was not comparable with Total Wireless. I had higher expectations that the phone would work flawlessly with it being purchased directly from Total Wireless which it does but I'm still unhappy that this phone cost $327 and isn't in better shape from the reconditioning process. Other than that I love Total Wireless and the great service the provide.
