installed in the kitchen door to keep out the now walking baby as a safety precaution. my guests have commented on how lovely it looks, and well it works. love the self close feature for when i step through with my hands full. my older children like the ease of opening the gate rather than stepping over like we did with our old gate. love that it came witb the mounting cups, keeps my prek kid from being able to knock it out of the doorway. the only one who doesnt seem to like it is the toddler, cuz she cannot get through and that leaves her frustrated for sure! sturdy, good value for the money spent, aesthetically pleasing, works well with my decor

I like the look of this gate. I installed it all by myself without my husband s help,so I will say its not hard to put it together
This gate looks great, works great, and keeps everybody contained... I have a German Shepherd puppy AND a rambunctious 2-year-old boy that needs to be confined to certain areas at times. Or sometimes separated for Mommy's Mental Health, so this gate does exactly that. It withstands the giant paws of the puppy and the climbing of the toddler... it's perfect!
Exactly what I needed to keep my little boy in his playroom when I have to use the bathroom or grab something. I didnt think it was that hard to install. I didnt use the screws, because it didnt go on a stair case and it is plenty tight behind the doors.
We bought this a few weeks ago.....if I had to post a negative it would be the inside of the gate part.....it is only plastic! The rest is a beautiful metal! We are using it to contain our two small dogs to the kitchen for now. Not sure how much strength it would be with a child pushing on it. Other than that it is very nice. I'm happy with it!
I got this gate for stairs, it is sturdy and the overall appearance looks good with my railings. But I find it hard to open with one hand, specially when using your left hand. It opens just one way so you can't customize to your preference. The opening where you pass is not very wide so you have to twist your body to go through. For my width I had to get extra spindle rods to complete the installation, the ones that came were too short and the extension too wide, so I had to pay extra $19.99 to get this gate going. But it feels very secure and it's a piece of mind to have this. I wouldn't repurchase or recommend.
I bought 3 at one time. First 2 are warped, didn't open the 3rd one. So, it's just the tiniest little 'closure' on these gates... So I really think any half-way intelligent child will be able to figure out how to open this gate pretty quickly.
The area that I need my gate was 37 I believe and the gate is too big for my area, even though it states it goes up to 42 it does not I will go buy one from the store instead of online because lately every order I've gotten from Walmart is messed up to the point where I don't want to order from here no more because every time I do, I have to send something back because it's false advertisement or broke or defected
Out of the box there is a warning that a gap between the moveable door and frame is intentional; however the gap is more than an inch wide and there is absolutely no way the door will latch to the frame. I'm hoping that this particular gate is truly defective but I'm going to return and purchase from a different manufacturer.
