This is the prettiest thing! Fabrics are not FANTASTIC quality- but they are decent! Looks funny without the hood on. It is sturdy and perfect for taking room to room or throwing in the van for a daytrip. Bows come undone a lot. The color is DARK chocolate. It gives it an 'expensive' look. We were able to use it until she was about 4 months old and was getting too tall and rolling over. I couldn't find any nice bassinet sheets so I ended up having someone on www.etsy.com MAKE 2 sheets for me that went perfectly (minky dots). I would buy this basket all over again. I love it!
When I was pregnant with my son all I really wanted was a Badger Basket, I thought they were so adorable while still being very functional. I was beyond pleased with this basket. I did have a few problems with it that I knew about before I bought it ,such as the velcro not going all the way along the rim so the hood kinda stuck out, however I just did what one customer did and secured the hood to the basket via ribbon. Very easy and it looks great. We were able to use this basket until our son was about 4 months old. We are now getting ready to welcome our third baby, and this basket is still in perfect shape!
I bought this basket on a Sunday night and received it on the next Friday. It is exactly as pictured on the storefront page. Be aware, the hood and the base are Velcroed together, helped out by some white ribbon ties. I quickly went and purchased some green polka-dotted ribbon to match my nursery and weaved the top and bottom together. Not because it is not sturdy the way it arrived, but because the Velcro wraps all the way around the lip of the base and might catch other fabrics (or your vehicle upholstery in transporting it.) This product is BEAUTIFUL. I highly recommend it.
I loved having this shipped to me, it was easy to shop for and since I have a newborn not going to the store was a great advantage. The basket is well built, cute, easy to set up, easy to carry and easy to maintain. We took it on a weekend trip and although it took up a bit of car space it was nice to have our own reliable bed instead of one from the hotel (since you never really know what you're getting with those). Now we just need amother reason to use it :)
I just bought this for my stepson and daughter-in-law for their daughter due in jan '13. They fell in love with it and neither had ever seen one before. When my sons were babies I couldn't have imagined not having one or at least something similar. It's a big anxiety saver when travelling with a baby, not having to worry about him/her rolling off a bed at a friend's or relative's house, and i hate seeing a baby having to be otherwise strapped into a carseat or bouncy seat to get that peace of mind. Under $40 and absolutely worth every penny. Don't carry the playpen around till baby is at least 3 months old. Just put the baby gear in here and you have a bed for baby when you get to your destination. An awesome buy!!!
This product is a lifesaver!! I am a disabled new mom & find this bassinet MOST helpful for me both during the day for watching over my newborn as he sleeps the day away & also for evenings when it's bedtime for mom. My son is very content in this bassinet & that makes me happy!
I'm a first time mom so I didn't know what to expect when it comes to my daughter's sleep patterns. My husband and I sleep on a mattress on the floor so co-sleepers and bassinets that required me to stand up out of bed then struggle to lay back down again with a newborn in my arms was out of the question - this basket fit the bill perfectly. It turns out that this is the only "bed" she'll sleep in. We bring it downstairs and have her sleep in it in the living room while we do our thing. It also comes to relatives' houses with us so she can nap, and it's so much more compact than pack'n'plays! I also love that if she falls asleep downstairs in it, we can just pick up the basket and carry her upstairs in it instead of having to disturb her. My only gripe about this product is that that pad isn't very comfortable, so I recommend wrapping a soft blanket around it. Otherwise it's money very well spent.
This was just what I was looking for to fill with gifts for a good friend's baby shower. Something different than a basic basket and something she can actually use for her newborn and as a decorative item in her nursery later. Colors were perfect for her brown and lime green decor with just a bit of lime green ribbon added. Very pleased with this purchase!
I have started a tradition of giving Moses Baskets to women I know and love who are pregnant and ALL of them love the beauty and functionality of the Basket.
The basket is a good deal for the price but if you're not planning on making your own bedding, as I was, you wouldn't feel comfortable using the basket as the padding and bumper are poor quality and very thin.
