i tried using rid and nix i got this as a last solution before i took my two girls to the dr cuz i tried home remedies after those two things did not work i got the lice free gel i was my life saver. it works by suffercating the lice and nits for 1hr it works great. i would swear on this product. yoiu might spend alittle more for this product but it goes a long way and works great.
I tried RID gel first. DID'NT KILL A THING! Plus RID is very toxic. This product is NOT. Plus it actually killed 99% of the lice. I followed the directions, and combed out dead lice. Found maybe 2 leftover 2 days later. DRAWBACKS: very hard to comb through. It is a salt solution, and dries out the hair badly. I would rinse it out first, then run some condition through the hair and then proceed to comb out the dead lice. The product warned of slight burning, though my 5 yr old didn't complain a stitch about it. I would definitely use this again. But Listerine is cheaper, and suppossedly works better than anything (Soak head in it, leave on for 2 hours), and listerine can be sprayed onto bedding to keep them off (or coats, jackets, hats, etc.) to prevent any reinfestaTION.
