I have been working with this size ruler for years now. They are so handy to measure and cut those larger pieces of fabric. This ruler is clear and it's easy to read even on printed fabric because the marking are black with white around them. This also goes for the quarter measurements and the angle measurements. The angle measurements are 30, 45, and 60 degree angles. It is made of heavy plastic and there is a hole at the top for hanging, which I do all of mine. Easier for me to find them!
This ruler is a must have for quilting. It spans all the way across my cutting mat to get the longest and most accurate cuts off the yardage i buy. The markings are easy to see and are the printing is protected on the back so it wont scratch off, the material and printing also help with grip do it doesnt slip as easily. It has the basic angles of 30,45 & 60 degrees. This ruler does not have the seam allowance markings, which i find i dont need on larger cut anyway.
The rotary cutter cuts a clean line right up to the edge of the ruler no matter left or right hand. The ruler makes it easy to use the cutter for quilting, patterns or arts and crafts.
Fiskars 6"X24" Acrylic Ruler is a great addition to sewing and craft tools. It is clear and easy to read with black numbers and black lines. The numbers and lines are outlined in white which makes them stand out against the fabric. It has 30, 45, and 60 degree line marks also. The 24 inch length of the ruler makes it ideal to straighten the end of fabric pieces before starting a project. It is good quality and makes cutting an easier chore. It can be used with a rotary cutter but also is a good edge for marking too. The ruler has a hole to hang it when storing. I can see how it would be invaluable to quilters, but I have used it for curtains, pillows, and just about any project that I do.
Fiskars Acrylic Ruler 6 inches wide by 24 inches long Made of sturdy, clear acrylic About 1/8 of an inch thick The ruler has 30, 45, and 60-degree bias lines marked. You can use the lines to make fabric triangles too. There is a hole for hanging at the top of the ruler. Marked with white, yellow, and black lines outlined in white. I wish I would have had this cutting ruler when I needed it almost 2 weeks ago. I was in the process of making a lot of masks and needed to cut a lot of fabric pieces and some strips that were 2 inches wide x 22 inches long. I had to mark the fabric with a pencil to the correct measurements then cut them all out by hand using scissors. Needless to say, the edges of the hand-cut pieces were uneven and jagged. They looked a mess. When I received the Fiskars ruler I ordered a rotary cutter and mat to go with it. Made the project so much easier. You just lay the see-through ruler on top of your fabric and cut fabric by the markings for the sizes and angles needed. Put the edge of your rotary cutter flush against the edge of the ruler and cut. The pieces will cut clean, even, and straight. If you don't press the ruler down while cutting with it, it will slide. You could tape it to your cutting mat though, and I wish it were the folding model for easier storage. Other than that I love it and am happy that I have it.
This is a really nice, sturdy ruler. It shows up very well on fabric, with the large black numbers and lettering! It is a must have for any sewing enthusiast. They really put the thought into this when designing it! There are so many uses for it! Straight edge, ruller, see through, etc. I love it and you will too!!
Great ruler, but not as pictured. Note, you do not get the pink coastal colors. The ruler is black and white which I have found is harder to read on top of fabrics than the coral pink. I ordered this specifically online because the store only had the black and white and I wanted the colors shown in the image, so I was very disappointed when it arrived. I love the fiskars acrylic rulers they are great and can withstand a lot, but definitely prefer the other color. If you don't care about the colors, this ruler is great! But if you are looking specifically for the one shown like I was, this isn't for you.
This ruler would be perfect if it had numbers on both sides.
The inch markings have horizontal lines making the ruler very difficult to line up if using seams to square up. The ruler is kind of flimsy. Not very thick. Not rigid at all.
The item is not the same as pictured. It has thick "clouded" lines that are hard to work accurately with. The pictured one works great! unfortunately, the one sold is NOT the pictured one.
