My dad's architecture firm used the red ones when I was a kid and I've been dying to find them again. I'm SO grateful that I was able to! I've been using them for everything from addressing my wedding invitations to taking notes for work and they're absolutely amazing.
I've been trying to find refills for my pen for a long time.
This pen writes so smooth. You will not be disappointed
Just recently purchased this pen at an art store to give it a try, and oh boy, I am glad that I did! This pen is super smooth, but not water-resistant or waterproof, and yet wonderful for watercolour sketches! Plenty of ink for each pen. Would definitely recommend it!
I love these pens and have for years. I am annoyed that I cannot find them locally (and that's been true for years, too) and have to order by mail. Although the ordering itself was simple and straightforward.
Tip is cushioned against lateral forces, unlike other pens that I've used. The pen's point, delivers essential pressure through multiple carbon copies. I've sought out & used these pens since around 1975. These, are the pens for the rest of my life.
These are my favorite pens. I love everything about this pen - the way it feels and the way it writes.
When you first begin to write with it, for the day it sometimes starts off dry. It can be somewhat annoying when you're trying to take a quick message or write a customer's information down, rapidly. Once it gets writing though it's very nice and consistent.
PROS: this pen has been around for decades and was one of the first roller ball pens; it's clearly withstood the test of time. This is a well-balanced pen. It doesn't have a “cushion” grip but it doesn't need one. The pen is 6-1/2” long with the cap affixed to the back of the pen and is therefore slightly longer than most pens, which I like. I like the ink because I write with a triangle. Specifically, I use a plastic triangle to make every vertical stroke in each letter, and as a result I'm constantly pushing the triangle from left to right. If the ink in the pen doesn't dry fast enough (which is the case with most roller balls and especially with “gel” pens), the ink will smear. Fortunately, that doesn't happen with this pen. CONS: the one and only disadvantage of this pen is that the lines are not as consistent in thickness as a more expensive roller ball such as a Mont Blanc, Lamy or a Rapidograph. This is being very “nit-picky” and the average user won't even notice this and it should not deter you from purchasing this pen.
Recently bought a pack of these pens for the first time, and as a lifetime pentel user, I've never been so disappointed by one of their products. The ink flow alternates between fine and thick with no apparent reason or discernible pattern, so it looks like you switched pens mid-word. Either thickness would be alright, but the mix is frustrating and looks sloppy.
