I have used these products for years. I did not find the size easily on the website.
These notebooks were a gift and he was happy to receive them; they are among his favourite business supplies! The notebooks are of great quality, long lasting, with smooth writing paper. They arrived promptly and securely in a box.
The odd size is quirky and fun for Americans who don't use A5 paper, but 8.5" x 11". I love this notebook, the pages tear out easily, when you want them to, but stay put, as necessary, when you don't need them detached. The paper quality is superb and great to write on. And the notebook is study and easy to write on even without a firm surface beneath.
I use these notebooks for graduate school and business meetings. They are easily identified in my stack of books or book bag because of the colors. They are sturdy, durable and long-wearing. One notebook is more than three years old and shows no signs of giving up.
Bought this after picking up an 8 1/4 x 5 7/8 one a while ago. I recently got back into fountain pens and was using just a cheap little memo pad to test new inks I'd bought and couldn't understand why they didn't look like the reviews. Realized it was the cheap absorbent paper and switched to Strathmore sketch pad, very white and hard surface, color accuracy definitely better than the memo but still losing some fidelity as paper still absorbing the ink. BnR Optik paper is coated so ink dries on the surface so all the features of the ink - shading, sheen - stay there, instead of disappearing into the paper. Paper is thick, too, which means virtually no show-through or bleeding so you can use both sides. These small pads are good for quickly testing new colors of inks and for jotting a few words down every other day or so with pens that are inked up but not used regularly, to keep the ink in the feeds flowing; most inks will dry out (some faster than others) if the pens aren't used often enough. In addition, the covers are thick, sturdy polyvinyl, not cardboard, and there's an elastic band to keep the cover closed, or you can use it as a bookmark or to hold the book open at a certain page. Other than that, can't see much general use for them - too expensive for minor, memo-type stuff like jotting down a phone number or appointment reminder or a shopping list.
This product is exactly what I wanted: a place to store daily business / meeting notes. I use it as a Journal so it goes with me everywhere. The tough construction keeps it in great shape. The thick paper protects my notes and will last forever. The only things I wish I had were a ribbon bookmark and an embossing option to put my name on the front.
I travel to Mexico for work. I have never been able to memorize the conversion tables from standard to metric. My cell phone is not always available for me to look up the information I need quick while I am making purchase decisions. The Black n' Red notebook has a durable front page - after the main black cover. This page has a pocket that can be used to store my receipts in. It also includes all the useful conversion tables that I need. The paper itself is a nice 24# white with out the holes in it like other spiral notebooks. I like this because it gives it a more professional look.
It's just a spiral tablet but the cover is a flexible yet durable plastic and it has the band closure, which I like. The paper seems good quality. Other than that, nothing special about the inside. It won't get the tattered worn look even after you have used it for months, which is also what I wanted.

I have used the Black n Red notebooks for years but most recently, when I ordered, I wasn only able to order the plastic covered notebooks. Once I received these notebooks I quickly realized I will not be ordering the Black n Red notebooks again. The hardcover made it possible to write in the notebook without a table under the book. Now the notebook bends without the support. I paid over $10.00 for each notebook, I expect the quality, and convenience of a hardcover.
