Very satisfied with the alternating pressure pump and pad. However the pad does not match the online photo, but I'm happy it didn't. The pad received does not contain the extra ends to tuck underneath the mattress. This system is helping to heal a pressure sore, I can really tell the difference since we started using it. Tip the pad is longer than the bed when it's not inflated, but once inflated it meets specification. I like the on/off switch and the variable pressure knob(firm/soft). Normally run the pump on soft, there is some noise from the pump, but it's doesn't keep us awake. If you are use to sleeping with a fan running you won't have a problem with the sounds. The hooks on the pump make it easy to hang on the bed head board, the instructions indicate to hang on the foot of the bed, which would put the noise at the feet instead of your head (our bed did not have a footboard). Also I put on it on the front side of a full bed and it's working well.

My bed at home is soft and comfy. And the hotel beds are hard. So at the hotels I slip this under the sheet and sleep much better!
This is our second system. 1st lasted 3 years. Gave my mom relief from pressure points. She is unable to change positions unassisted. Had to replace the first mattress at2 yrs due to leak. Great customer service. Would like air release valve for mattress to assist with getting out of bed. Unplugging tubing each morning stresses tubing and Area where they attach. Would definitely recommend for anybody who has problems with circulation or who is at risk for bed sores
I thought it alternate pressure while in use. I have discovered it just sets to the pressure you choose. I had to deflate when on high in order to adjust to a lower pressure. Once you find the pressure that works for yourself it's enjoyable. Easy to clean and set up.
After inflating the pad I got in bed and it felt good to my body but the big issue was the noise it made when you move your body. You know the sound a balloon makes when it's inflated and you rub it.....well that's what it sounds like when you move or try to get out of bed. That's too bad because I really liked it otherwise, I can't keep waking up every time I shift positions so I had to return it and hopefully I can find one that's made of a different material that's not noisy.
I purchased this alternating pressure pad because of having had a pressure sore that required surgery. Although it's true that the pressure will switch from one coil to another, the knob on the machine that allows the patient to adjust the intensity of the pressure from light alternating pressure to harder alternating pressure DOES NOT WORK! Even when the knob was turned all the way to the lowest setting, I still got the hardest effect. It felt like I was sleeping on rocks; consequently, I will definitely be returning it. The manufacturer needs to work on improving that feature. Who wants to wake up feeling worse with skin so sore that the pain lingers? Not me!
