[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While we are not everyday sewers we do understand the importance of sharp scissors. This pair is a great length and fits well on my daughter's hand. The included protective cover slips on and off easily which means she will use it which will allow the scissors to stay protected.
Gingher makes excellent scissors. I have many different styles and sizes of ginghers and love them all. They are very sharp and stay sharp, they are very well made, edges are smooth, and blades fit tightly for a perfect cut. I am an embroiderer and most of my embroidery friends also have Gingher scissors.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently got the Gingher 5" Knife Edge Sewing Scissors for my wife. She has a gift for sewing, etc. and needs quality products to get the job done. Gingher is quality. Having said that, in the box you get the scissors and a sheath. I know nothing about sewing scissors. All I can tell you is that these things are ridiculously sharp and the action on them is smooth and tight. Given how sharp they are, I can see why Gingher provides a sheath. Now, according to my wife, who has Gingher products of other sizes and edges, these are not as good as her 8" Gingher's for cutting fabric. Not that they can't... they can, with ease. As a side note, my wife said to point out how well these scissors cut through knit fabric. The issue is that her longer Gingher shears do the work in half the time. Now, my wife did find that these scissors a spectacular for what she called "notching." She said that she was using Gingher thread snipping shears to "notch" and that the 5" knife scissor was so much better and match notching much easier. Since I know nothing about scissors, I asked her to provide a rating. She said that these are a solid five star when used for notching or when cutting in small areas. They are super sharp and get the job done with ease. My wife said that she definitely recommends the purchase of these and any Gingher products if you are serious about sewing.
I've been looking for scissors that I could use to cut several thickness' of cord for non-wire jewelry making. These were perfect! They are a smaller size, so they fit in my tool kit but the handles are big enough for larger fingers. They cut very well. I can cut through 8 cords of c-lon 18 with no problem. I'm sure they would work well with light to mid-weight fabrics. Good value for the money!
Small accurate/ precise scissors, they do an amazing job... also comes with blade protecting case.

Reviewing: Gingher Knife Edge 5" Sewing Scissors with Leather Sheath These are very nice scissors. I use them for cutting yarn and thread. They feel comfortable in my hands and cut my materials with ease. The only thing I don't like is the sheath. It is too short. Other than that, I do recommend them if you need a pair of quality scissors.
