I love the small size of these scissors. They seem very high quality, like they will last forever. They are super-sharp and perfect for cutting thread, yarn, or fabric. They would be great to keep with my knitting project, in my sewing basket, or with my sewing machine--I can't decide! Maybe I need more. . .
The thing I like most about these is that they are EXTRA sharp, and just like it says on the package, sharp right down to the tip, so I can get tiny details and edges. I used them to make my fiance a new Covid mask with a little embroidery, nothing too fancy, and it came out really great, cut both a tricky fabric and the thread perfectly. They are sturdy, but I do think that the shape of the handles (more round than I usually prefer) might wear on the fingers if you have a REALLY time consuming project, but I have arthritis and still didn't have too much trouble with them. Size is perfect for travel kits, they are not the long ones that you often find in the sewing section, and have uploaded a picture for size reference. All in all though, my main reason for such high marks is the sharpness and sturdy design
this review is for the FISKARS FORGED EMBROIDERY SCISSORS, 4 INCH. these scissors have precision-ground stainless steel blades for a long lasting sharpness. there is a tension adjustment screw on one side as well as being able to take the scissors apart for sharpening(if ever needed). there is also a FULL LIFETIME WARRANTY these are dubbed embroidery scissors for use in cutting threads and fabrics but these perfect little fiskars are just right for doing paper crafts and trimming out delicate intricate designs. scissors as good as these are difficult to find. i needed a pair of scissors this size for trimming the hair from under my pets paws and in between their toes because their legs and paws are small, it was risky trying to use larger scissors and they needed to be sharp enough to be able to cut animal hairs. these FISKARS EMBROIDERY SCISSORS do the job easily. and in turn, i use them in my craft room fussy cutting ephemera and stencils for use in my journal making and other craft projects. the uses for these scissors are unlimited. FISKARS has been a household brand for very many years for making quality products. youll never have to worry about rusting.
These are great little scissors. I sew and quilt, a lot! I have found these perfect for lap projects, easy to tote around. I have hung them on a retractable ID tag clip to have them handy to snip threads and so on while quilting. They are sharp to the tip. I found them great for clipping away fabric in tiny corners near the stitching when doing reverse appliqué. The tips are not quite as fine as my Ginghers, but they are pretty close, and at a quarter of the price I am a little less panicked about losing them.
The Fiskars forged steel scissors are extra sharp cutting tool for fabric and small crafts items. They cut with ease and smooth cutting lines. My 89 year young Mother used them to cut cloth for sewing; and, she rated them a 5 star! She liked how easily she could cut thread stitches while sewing. Would recommend these to people that sew or cutting precise edges for crafting.
As an avid quilter, I am no stranger to Fiskars. They provide quality tools that are well made and stay sharp longer than other brands. I am happy to add the embroidery scissors to my sewing kit. They are forged steel so you know the minute you pick them up they are quality and sturdy not the light weight cheap made product of others. These are perfect for embroidery and releasing those small stiches when needed. If your looking for a tool that last consider Fiskars, it is well worth the cost for the quality.
I do a bit of sewing and crafting making halloween costumes and plushies for my son. There are always little details added to these projects such as teeth and eyes. These scissors were great. Sometimes with my other scissors I would get those jagged little edges but not with these scissors. They were precise. This is a goog quality scissor and heavy. I actually think these would be good for doing a little trim work on hair such as bangs. But be careful they are extremely pointy and sharp.
In the past, I have had trouble finding small scissors that fit my not small fingers and therefore rather painful to use. These scissors are of high quality and very comfortable to use, even with my larger fingers. I really appreciate that they are all metal and not cheap plastic handles as well. They exceeded my expectations and if I have to order more it will be this brand for sure! They are especially handy in my current mask making.
This is a great little scissors! I expected good quality based on the Fiskers name, and this scissors delivered. I bought it to use in snipping threads for embroidery projects. However, it's also great for sewing projects where detailed small cuts are needed and regular sewing scissors are too big and bulky. This replaced my current embroidery scissors and these do cut better. The only thing I like better about my previous snippers were that they had a bird design on the handles that I really liked. Maybe Fiskers could incorporate this design in a future embroidery scissors? This scissors has stainless steel blades, making it ideal for fabrics. I would not use it on paper since that would dull the blades -- and I hide it so that family members will not find it and use it on paper! It cuts easily and without pulling or feeling stiff. Nice compact small size (four inches long); easy to take along with you with projects.
I do a lot of alteration on my clothes, so a good pair of short scissors is invaluable. My sewing machine is broken so I have to do everything by hand, and these are especially good if you want a finished cut without sewing a hem. These Fiskars are a good small pair to keep in your sewing box. They are a high quality and can be sharpened. You can also tighten the tension screw incase the pivot should loosen over time. They are perfect for sniping threads cleanly, which is what they are designed for. You can get a clean cut so you don't have to struggle getting a frayed end through a needle. Great for making the close nips you need in an embroidery piece. They make a clean cut in fabric, but if you have a large swath, you would probably want a larger pair of scissors. The blades are short, a longer cut may look choppy unless you are adept. As far as sharpness, they are a little above average. I'm sure there are sharper ones you could buy. The finger rings are SMALL. I have small hands and my fingers barley go through, but all said, they appear to be a quality scissor. In a crunch, they would probably work well for some bang or beard trimming too, lol. If you need a nice small scissor, these look like they would last a long time.
