When you need acidophilus, whether as a remedy or a supplement, this is IMO the best way to take it. It does the job quickly and effectively. This product has no sugar and is packed with friendly bacteria that go to work immediately. It's a great idea to keep it in the fridge as part of your immune booster/ digestive kit.
I bought this in the plain flavor to avoid the added sugar. I also like that it is not in a pill form. It tastes like sour yogurt but that was expected since there is no sugar added. My kids and I have no problem taking this by the spoonful. If the unsweetened flavor is a problem, you can follow it with a drink of water or juice.
I have used Liquid Acidophilus since the 1960s. This American Health product is better than we had back then, although those products worked nicely. Personally, I believe that a great deal of one's overall health, wellness, and longevity stems from the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, I believe in treating my GI Tract the very best that I can in every way. Each morning I take my Probiotic Capsules, either 1 capsule of the Lee Swanson Signature Line Premium Probiotic, or 2 or 3 of NOW's 8 Billion Acidophilus and Bifidus capsules. Then at night / bedtime I take a good swig right out of the bottle of this excellent, potent Liquid Acidophilus Probiotic product (about a 1 to 2 Tblsp size swig) . I feel that works on my GI Tract during the night as I sleep, keeping it in tip-top shape. I love the flavor of Plain Yogurt, Plain Kefir, and this Plain (unflavored) Acidophilus. I highly recommend this terrific Liquid Acidophilus Probiotic product for every member of the family, just as I always gave it to my children when they were growing up.
Works great on digestive system
I don't know if I got a bad bottle or if this is how the product should look. No matter how hard or how long I shook the bottle, it poured out in a gloppy lumpy substance. It was thickly coated around the opening of the bottle and the metal cap appeared to have rust on it. I'm afraid to try to return it for another bottle. I purchased this product because of the high leaf recommendation from others but I'm not one of those satisfied customers.
