I was having trouble with sinus pressure and pain throughout the spring. A doctor that I saw for this problem suggested trying using this sinus rinse. I no longer have any pain or pressure and that's without drugs. It takes a few times to get used to it. Think going swimming and having the water go through your nose. I no longer have to take sinus pressure medicine.
I have severe nose polyps with no way of surgery. The only option is to irrigate my nose and this does the job I have not had to use it much at all after the first few days. My condition was bad to where I couldn't breathe and amplified my asthma and this did the trick.
I've used a nettie pot for years to help with sinus issues due to allergies, now that im over seas and the dust is worse here, using this product is way easier to use than the nettie pot.
My doctor recommended this when I was sick earlier this year. I had seen them before and suffered from allergies since I was a kid. I thought she was a bit crazy, but okay I would give it a shot. It was weird to get used to, but WOW did it work! Make sure you use distilled water and warm it up slowly so it doesn't get to hot. Then add the rinse packet and let it dissolve and I shake it up a little. Start with minimal pressure. If you squeeze to hard you can cause pressure change to your ears and it will hurt. Make sure you lean over the sink really well. I couldn't believe how much gunk it would clear out and just help me be able to breath better! I would be able to tell if I needed to use it after I got better! It really is a good maintenance thing for people with allergies and post nasal drip from all that sinus gunk. It has made a huge difference for me. Make sure you read the booklet that comes with it on proper sterilizing of the bottle. My doctor recommend this over the netty pot because you can control the flow so it doesn't feel like you are going to drown and its easier for beginners. My only complaint was the bottle should be bigger, but then I found out they make a bigger bottle! I will be ordering the bigger bottle when I need to get my replacement!
Recommended to me by my brother, to aid with relief of unproductive, thick, phlegm and mucous congestion of the lungs. Turns out to be helpful in reducing the post-nasal drip that causes these build-ups. There's a bit of a learning curve for using the flexible bottle properly to create a gentle, steady pressure, but one quickly learns to apply it correctly, and, after about a week or two, I noticed a distinct improvement: FEWER bouts of "unproductive" coughing, trying desperately to clear clogged lungs. Of course, most people will use it for the help it provides in really clearing the nasal sinuses properly, so that one has a more satisfying sense of clear breathing through ones nostrils. It's a little bit fussy, in that one needs to use a sterile water--either boiled and cooled, or distilled water--but the packets, containing a finely ground mixture of salt and baking soda dissolve very quickly, and the packets are shaped like tubes so one can easily add the powder to the bottle, shake it, and apply the rinse to the nostrils. Definitely feels very good, once you get used to doing it daily.
A friend recommended this product, saying it would help alleviate recurring sinus infections. While I've never tried a Neti pot, this seemed like an easier solution for irrigation. I'm pleased with the product; it's simple, natural, and can fit easily into my daily routine. I would recommend this product, in fact, already have.
This is easy to use and should be used as directed. You need to be leaning over a sink because it can get a little messy. You also have to do it few times and figure out how to best to learn and hold the bottle. I've been doing this everyday for about 2 1/2 weeks. I think it helps me sleep better, recover from sinus affections sooner and/or colds quicker. Hopefully when spring and summer rolls around this will help alleviate allergies.
The bottle has to be cleaned with distilled, filtered water before initial use and then after each use. It is a simple device to use and has helped clear up sinus issues that I've been dealing with for over 3 months. A downfall is having to replace every 3 months.
It works very well and my daughter has severe sinus plugs during the seasons, so this was a great purchase. Kind of wish the instructions were bigger as the paper in the package just talks about all their other products and a small square at the bottom details how to use it.
One of the packages of NeilMed was opened and looked like rain had fallen on it and dried up. I don't know what happened to it. I want one package of NeilMed Since Rinse replaced please! Also place the items out of sight from people walking outside. When you open the gate place them on the left - - - by the side door of the garage (not by my door). Thank you!
