I have not used this cold but I like the heat for my pain. It does have a strong Eucalyptus scent but that does not bother me. I use it on my stiff neck and then on my aching lower back and my knee. The fact it is so versatile is why I bought it. When you get old like me, you appreciate anything that helps you deal with your pain.
Those complaining of the scent may not know what eucalyptus is. It does smell of eucalyptus (which is a very distinct herbal scent), but it's not overpowering or gross in my opinion. If you can't stand herbal scents at all then this is definitely not for you. The box says eucalyptus, rosemary
I bought two of these, one for my husband and one for myself. I had neck surgery and the bed buddy is great for pain relief. My husband got a kink in his neck and could hardly turn his head. The bed buddy, once heated in the microwave, loosened up the muscles in his neck and he was amazed at how quickly his pain was gone completely.
I have found the Bed Buddy to be very helpful. It heats up evenly and with the dual chambers the stuffing stays where you need it. The only drawback that I have found is that the "aromatherapy" isn't very pleasant smelling and can be over-powering.
Had one that got worn this smaller and less bulky. Works great for my sprain and arthritis
I have been using the bed buddy for years. It really helps with any kind of muscle ache I have ever had. So different than a heating pad. It has a moist heat which really seems to make a difference. The scent is okay but not necessary to me. I do like the green color though.
Long lasting heat. Comforting aroma
I bought this thinking is would work good for needing a cold compress and I was wrong. I put it in the freezer for a day and it was barely cold when I pulled it out to use. It's good for a hot compress, but not for cold. It shouldn't be advertised as good for both.
Horrible smell, like burnt sausage?!! Now I know why it cost less than usual - very disappointed! I'd really hate for even 'one' other person to waste their hard-earned money on this particular product. I buy gifts during the year so I will have them when needed. A family member needed a new one recently
I will probably return this because the smell is so unpleasant
