As all accident's happen's, cut ,scrapes, you should have a first aid ointment onhand to help with infection as well as a quick healing ointment with minimal scaring. I always keep this in my first aid kit and in my bathroom cabinet for quick protection. Polysporin ointment contain's an ingredient of "Bacitracin", plus a "polymyxin b" for infection protection. By combining the both of bacitracin with polymyxin B, this ointment provides you with first aid antibiotic power without neomycin, (this is the ingredient in Neosporin)"Polysporin First Aid Antibiotic Ointment" is the dermatologist recommended first aid ointment for treating infection. Simply apply a small amount of this product on the affected area one to three times a day and know that you are protected. If needed, you can covered with a sterile bandage and re-apply when needed and as all good first aid product's, it's made by the makers of Johnson & Johnson.

I burned my index finger on a hot roasting pan. For 2 days, I used pure aloe vera gel (from Walmart) on it, but it wasn't getting any better... still red, angry and sore. That 3rd day, the Polysporin arrived for me to try. Thank goodness! After using for only 2 days, the wound was closed, mostly healed, and not sore anymore! I've used triple antibiotic ointments in the past, but none worked as well as this one! I can see why it gets the rave reviews!! I applied a little dab of the ointment in the morning and once during the afternoon. Couldn't keep a bandaid on during the day because of the location of the burn and my hands constantly being in water. But at bedtime, I applied a liberal dab of ointment and put on a bandaid until morning. That really did the trick!!

Better for people with allergies

The main difference between Polysporin and Neosporin is one of the antibiotics called “Neomycin” which can cause allergic reactions in some people, is not a active ingredient in Polysporin. It just so happens that my daughter is one of those people, so I keep both Polysporin and Neosporin on hand at all times. This ointment does not cause burning when applied and protects minor injuries from infection when used according to package directions. I usually change the bandage and reapply the ointment at least once a day until the injury is healed. During the winter months when the air is so dry I sometimes have issues with the skin cracking open around my fingers which can be very painful. Since it is actually an “open wound” I use the ointment on those cracks and wrap with a band aid. I have had significant improvement in those cracks in a very short time as opposed to not using it at all. There are other ointments on the market, but for me, nothing is better than this product and I will make sure I keep it on hand.

Helped My Tattoo Heal

I recently had my eyebrows microbladed, which is similar to tattooing. A few hour afterward I started to use this product on my brows. I was told it could take weeks for my brows to heal but using this product decreased the healing time. It has actually been a little over a week and my brows have healed beautifully. I noticed that this product has more Bacitracin in it than the other national brand. That may explain the speed at which it helps to heal.

Good to have handy!

I sliced a big chunk of skin off the tip of my index finger, but it didn't seem significant enough to demand a trip to the ER. After a thorough cleaning, I coated the cut with Polysporin, wrapped the tip of my finger in a nonstick gauze and taped it up. After a few weeks of daily bandage changings, I can hardly tell I had cut myself. I've known that Polysporin is a great for helping to heal most types of cuts, but this is the first time I've used on one this bad. I am delighted with the results.

This ointment is primarily used to prevent infection in minor scrapes, cuts and burns. Simply apply a small amount of this product on the affected area one to three times a day and enjoy the magical protection. You don't want the minor injury to be contaminated with dirt and germs, which may cause infection and delay healing. You want a speedy and better healing, so Polysporin ointment is the magical answer. My daughter sustained a minor injury riding her bike, and not only did it stop the pain, the healing process was like the speed of light.

Non-greasy, non-scented great option!

I received this product at no charge in exchange for an honest review. The tube inside the box is very tiny, but for as little as you need to use for a minor cut, it should last a while. The expiration date was about 1.5 years away. I often find that I never use a tube of antibiotic ointment before the expiration, and it usually gets thrown own. I wish the shelf life was longer. This is my first time using Polysporin since I usually choose a generic brand or other major brand name. It has a much better texture than the other brands. It is not greasy and absorbs very quickly. I had a small scrape on my finger and applied the ointment. It absorbed so well that a bandaid wasn't even necessary. Huge plus! There is absolutely no scent to the product. Also no age restriction, so I plan to have it on hand for my 9 month old should we need it. Overall, I would recommend this brand and product!

Zinc ointment for cuts

Reviewed in the USA on 2017-12-22T16:00:00

The application of the ointment was easy. It had a texture that wasn't as smooth and blended as say an antibiotic cream. I used this product on a small cut on my index finger. I applied it 4 days consecutively. It cleared up a regular size cut about inch superficial. It cleared up the cut and any redness or swelling went away.
