The cage was very easy to assemble. directions state :easier with two people" in some of the steps. Really , you can do it alone. The quality of construction is pretty good. no missing hardware, etc. My sunconure parrot seems to have adapted to it well. casters make a breeze of cleaning around it. price - good, overall very satisfied.
Great cage for the money. It went together fast...my African grey loves it...
I am so happy with the quality of this cage. I wasn't expecting it to be so nice honestly. The bars are not the bendable type I was thinking they would be. My husband had no trouble at all putting together. I also love the ease of cleaning. The drawer up top pulls out as well as two on the bottom, one for grate, other firvpaoers. Means no takongbthe whole top off the cage like I had to with my previous cage. The seed guard is a major plus too.
We got the small cage (24l x 20d). Our Meyers parrot took to it right away, investigating every inch with plenty of room for flapping his wings and climbing. We added some oak limbs and store-bought perches in varying widths and textures. The cage is beautiful, well made, sturdy and not too difficult to assemble.
This was my first order from hayneedle. I'm very pleased with how fast it arrived. Ordered it on Tuesday, it shipped the next day and arrived on Thursday! First off the cage is huge for my young cockatiel, Ansel. Everything went together easily except the pieces that the sides slide down into. Most of them were squashed flat. Using pliers straightened them out and all was good. My only problem with this cage for my smaller bird is that the included bowls are enormous! Ansel is enjoying his very spacious cage. It is very solid and rolls easily. Quite the upgrade from a coated wire cage. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from hayneedle again, or purchase another Prevue cage. If I could change one thing about this cage, I'd add another access door on the side. I have additional bowls in the cage for water and veggies. They're difficult to reach with only one door.
Received our cage yesterday and it is wonderful pretty easy to put together. Took 2 people and the parts went together very easy. It is rot iron very sturdy. the whole cage is tops. Even had touch up paint and brush. Easy clean up seed guards great idea. I recommend this product to anybody. My Pineapple conure took to it and loves the room and the play pen as well. Thanks
I got this cage for my Amazon parrot. Assembly was fairly easy except that the tool they provided was small & difficult to use. Luckily I had a better one on hand. I'm not using the seed guards because of space restrictions but at least I have them for future use. Burt loves to sit on the playtop to sleep or check out the happenings around the house. I purchased my own real wooden perches for inside the cage since dowels are not healthy for bird feet. I like the food/water doors with the metal dishes (plastic can be destroyed easily) but Burt has escaped through them while I was putting the dishes in. That darn bird! That's ok as he's out more than he's in. I love the wheels as I place him in front of the window and move him back when the sun comes in directly on him and sometimes he hangs out in the living room with us. The price of the cage was better at Walmart than anywhere else and free shipping to the store was an added plus. You just need a vehicle that can load it and help getting the box inside your house, since it's heavy. The bubble wrap that it came in was filthy dirty and the cage top was loaded with dust but it didn't hurt the cage. You just had to wash your hands often. I'm thrilled with this cage & would recommend it to anyone looking for a parrot cage.
My bird loves having more room to play with her toys, and the cage looks nice in my living room.
I'm torn on my opinion on this cage. Pros: It's very large and very attractive. It doesn't make my living room look terrible because it's in the corner. I have just one small bird in the cage, and she has lots of room to stretch and move around. Room for lots of toys. You are able to add extra perches to make different levels. Overall pretty awesome. Cons: Some of the metal pieces were either not manufactured right or warped from shipping. When one piece of a puzzle is messed up, it makes putting the rest of the puzzle together a beast. Also a few of the screw holes in the metal required for assembly were too small for the screws included. Very weird. Other: The product comes with four bowls and an extra container of touch up paint. When we got the box, the little jar of paint exploded and ruined a few bowls. Contacted the manufacturer (still haven't sent more but are working on it. hopefully) and they seemed more than willing to rectify the situation. For the price vs. going to a pet store this is an excellent buy. The time consuming assembly and frustration is worth it for a bargain to me.
The cage is ok but several of the part were bent. Cages I've had in the past were much heavier metal
