I have long gray/white hair, and this makes it look shiny. Just be careful and don't too much on, or your hair will look oily. It's an easy product to use and if you want shiny hair you will like this.
The holy grail for me, I finally found a product that makes my hair exactly how I want it after having bleached it. My bleached hair used to be somewhat damaged, not the worst but it wasn't shiny at all and would take forever to dry. My hair now looks like it is naturally blonde, meaning it looks healthy and shiny like if I was born blonde. I feel so much more confident now. I would pay hundreds of dollars for this in a salon if I could and if I couldn't get it at a local store. It is truly amazing. I don't follow the directions mind you, I leave it in until it mostly dries, an hour or more, sometimes over night. I'm telling you, I have never found a hair product I have loved this much. I haven't even ever found a hair product I would recommend except for when neutrogena used to make the neutrogena clean shampoo and conditioner. It made my hair like literal silk. But not shiny. That's unrelated but just saying, a lot of people write negative reviews about this product and I'm thinking it's either because different people have different hair chemistry and not everything works for everyone, or they aren't using it right. I put it in my dry hair and a ton of it. Then like I said I let it dry or leave it in at least an hour. Then I rinse it out with lukewarm/cold water and either condition or just dry it and use a silicone based serum for frizz and shine. I am indebted to John Frieda now and I wish I could say thank you to the inventor of this product and beg them to never discontinue or change it. Results may vary and this is just how I use it personally, I also used it about three times before I saw a drastic change. Although after the first use I was already impressed enough that I would recommend it and even pay more for it. You gotta try this, i might be able to understand why some people say it dries their hair, not sure what's happening, but I think it just rinses off the natural oils and also when you shampoo hair or bleached hair it's going to feel dry. This is why I don't shampoo it out. Just rinse. But that's my experience and you may have a different one. But for me this product will be a weekly purchase because I use a ton of it. I hope it never changes or is discontinued. I know they have a colored version too, but I would just stick with the clear one. I don't see the purpose, because it's only one shade I think of red, and it might change the look of your red hair, they might have a brunette one too but the clear is such an amazing product. It doesn't even rinse out the purple shampoo I have, it seals it in if anything. I haven't had to use purple shampoo in a while because it locks it in so well. I'm also afraid to shampoo it because I've built up such amazing shine and texture that I don't want to wash it all out and start over again. Personally I would never use shampoo if it wasn't purple. Hot water is enough to clean the excess oils anyways.
I have grey hair and anyone knows that has grey hair is that it's dull and rough well I tried this because of the ratings and must say I'm impressed my hair is soft and it's been 3 days now and still soft not needing anything else to help it so I say try it
I couldn't believe how much this product helped my hair. I have dry curly hair that is going gray. This makes it so much softer and helps hold moisture until the next wash.
I bought this over a month ago because my hair had lost is healthy look from being overly processed. Everyone knows that if you go to a salon for a gloss treatment, it can be costly. I decided to give this a try and WOW, all I can say is I get so many compliments, from "your hair is so shiny", "your hair is so healthy". I can wear it anyway and the results were immediate. I washed and conditioned my hair, got excess water out, applied and left it on while I finished showering, rinsed and I can't say how happy I am, I got my hair back, my shiny beautiful hair. My daughter has very curly hair and we use a lot of the Frizz products and we love them, compared to the higher end products we have found the price and the result is better. It is a win win for us both!

This product rocks!! Between my age, a serious medical condition and medications my hair was destroyed. This product truly makes it soft and gives it a lovely gloss. Note: you need to follow the directions. More is not better. You only need to use a little in the shower and leave it on for a full 3 minutes, then rinse thoroughly. Otherwise your hair will look like it needs to be washed again. Do it right and the results are great!!
It will remove your fingernail polish during application so be careful.of that. I use this in lieu of a salon glosser which is very expensive. Leaves my hair glossy and smooth.Seems to protect from humidity against frizziness. Ive been using this product for years.
I was super excited about trying this product for my frizzing wacky hair to add shine and smooth the hair. I did it on dry hair and totally made it wet with the product and left it on for 20 minutes as it recommended. I then rinsed it well in cool water and followed up with shampoo and conditioner. I let it partially towel/air dry and then finished with my blow dryer on a medium setting. The results at first were AMAZING. Smooth, shiny manageable hair emerged! HOWEVER as I was finishing drying it, there were spots of my hair that looked like a thick hairspray/glue/gunk was on it. With brushing it only lost the sleekness and became puffy again. The white flakes or whatever NEVER came out. They only left mild tiny flakes on my shirt. I got up this morning and washed it again, plus conditioned. Repeat. My hair STILL has white flakes on the strands. It looks super damaged or like I have paint in my hair. I am soooo confused and kinda upset I wasted my money. Any suggestions????? I want my normal, healthy hair back! The pic added is right after the treatment last night.
Followed directions to the letter, NO SHINE.... dried out my hair very badly, don't know why it made my hair like straw. Before I used it my hair was soft but just didn't have enough shine. Thought this would give me more shine. Horrible product, waste of $9.50 plus now I need more products to fix the damage it created. How is this selling and still on the market? Never, Never will buy John Freida products again.
