This is great if you can not get your cat to the vet anytime soon. It's a quick fix . And it is tempory fix but you should still take your animals to the vet even after this treatment . It's cheap for those on ssi.
My dad feeds all of the stray cats in our neighborhood and tries to take care of them the best he can. A few of the cats had sores on their ears and he wanted something affordable that would help. We tried Hardz ultravuard for earmites and it healed their ears really well and fairly quick.
Noticed the cat scratching his ears and after researching a prescription product and reviews for Hartz UltraGuard, Hartz was the choice. I purchased several packages thinking this would be a chronic treatment. The scratching stopped in just two days.
I have spent so much at the vet on treating my cat for ear mites and he gets so mad in the car I just hate taking him there . With just two treatments he stopped itching and I was so pleased .. If he starts itching again I will pop in some more, but what a relief not to have the horrid trip to the vets.
We had rescued 2 kittens that had mites. I gave this stuff a shot, and its been a week, and kittens show no signs of mites and have stopped scratching their ears.
These drops work to clear up ear mites but require continual use over a few days period. They are dropped directly into the ear. I thought they weren't working after a few days then I cleaned the books of his ears with a q tip and wet wipes before use and it cleared up entirely.
I know it helped but I still ended up needing a vet so I honestly can't say it is particularly good or bad.
Each cat needs four or five drops per ear per day for a week. Then why do they not give you enough in a pack for that dosage? They do not say how many drops are in a tube! So you will need more than three tubes, expect to buy 3 or 4 packs. Because you will also waste alot opening the tubes and trying to get you cat to sit still while you count the drops into it's ear. And good luck with the ear massage and wiping the ears out. Unrealistic. If they are going to make tubes, then they should make a tube that contains 4 or 5 drops times the amount needed in a pack and include kit gloves! But, you get what you pay for.
Bought this for my cat a few times since August. It's October now, and it didn't work. I'm using Eradimite for his ears and spraying my house with Adams Flea and Tick spray. It's weird that nothing's working as my cat was seen and treated at the vet about two weeks ago.
I used the smallest dose of this on my large cat, using every other day instead of daily for three doses, and it burned the inside of his ears to the point the skin peeled off and left raw patches. I was very careful to remove any excess he shook out with cotton balls and wet cloths. I'd stay away from it.
