Great heater for a 1.5 Gallon tank.

It's a bit big for the 1.5 gallon tank but it doesn't over heat it at all. It stays exactly in the green area of the thermometer for tropical fish which is great because we use this little tank for our swordtail fry. Our last heater by someone else, kept going above the green area well into the 90 degree area and we weren't taking a chance on losing our babies. So if you have a small tank this is excellent.

Not sure why so many negative reviews. I allowed ours to “break in” for about a week and it's constantly warming at or around 76-78 degrees. Our fish are active & healthy. The light does periodically go back/forth green & red but it's supposed to as temperatures fluctuate throughout the day. I recommend it highly! Thanks TETRA

I bought this heater for my daughters new betta fish 2 gallon tank. I love the fact that it suctioned on the side of the tank & also has an auto shut off when it reaches correct temp. He dif. seems to like it being warm.

I love this heater. I used to have problems keeping fish because of the tank's inaccurate temperature. All I have to do is simply place the heater in the aquarium and plug in. It automatically keeps the temperature the same all day every day. I no longer to have worry about my fish. Great product and strongly recommend for beginners and/or amateurs.

I've had my first tetra heater for 10 haply years in my 10gallons. Upgraded tank to bigger one and figured id get the same model as the first one since it wasn't up for it. I set it up and didn't stress much about the fact it took a long time to get the tank to set temp. Day 2 i Noticed it looked humid inside but google mentioned it was normal. Today my most my precious fish are dead. They basically boiled. I removed my air stone and saw the heater leaks tiny bubbles. not only the amount of money gone just like that but i watch thos fish grew and got attached to them. This sucks. 3 days. This morning everything was fine. Couple of hours is all it took to ruin years of trust in the brand. I'm done. This is outrageous

We've had an aquarium for 2.5 years and a are in the second heater for the larger tank. First one suddenly stopped heating. Tested it in a bucket and it never raised the temp. We also bought a heater for the smaller tank my son's fish is in. That heater just broke and cooked the poor fish to death over night! You'd think there would be a fail safe or something to prevent it from killing living creatures. Frankly, the tank now looks the sight of a horror movie and I'm left trying to explain to my 4-year-old why his beloved fish is dead. I'm now wary about the one in the larger tank and am most likely going to replace it ASAP even though it is only a few months old.

Exploded, Burnt Carpet

Woke up to the smell of burning in my room around 3:45am today, was concerned it was my new mist system for my gargoyle gecko. Then realize there's little black specks and water all over my room, my mirror, the ceiling. Then step on something, turns out it's burning heater parts that burned a hole in my carpet and foot. Wonderful way to wake up when I have a 7am class tomorrow. So now I unplug my two inkbird controllers for my heaters, I was only using this heater as a backup since my other one wasn't getting up the temperature I wanted. Try to find the heater, which was in the back of a tank with built in filtration, and it isn't there. It's laying across the room, unplugged itself from the heater, about six inches from my head. The rest is on top of my 29 gallon next to the tank that had this heater, and whatever else is sprayed on my ceiling and bed or burning into my carpet. Absolutely ridiculous that a practically new heater exploded, I bought it two months ago but it had only been running two weeks. Was keeping the tank at 76°, fully submerged, and I cannot come up with a reason for this happening other than it being a crap product. These heaters often come back into the store I work at with complaints of them stopping heating the tank after a few weeks, but never this so far. I now get to enjoy the smell of burnt carpet and finish cleaning up the mess of the explosion before I get up at 5:30. Thanks Tetra!

Bought this in June and at first it seemed to work great but then a couple weeks went buy and it literally melted and burned itself from the inside out. Killed all of our plecos we had and everything. Very disappointed
