I just had a baby one month ago today and my pediatric recommend me gerber soothe drops I have notice less crying and fussiness. Just wondering are these drops suppose to regulate my baby bowel movements? I dont see him regular. And another thing these drops are a bit pricey for a small bottle!
My mom handed me 2 samples of the colic drops for her pediatrician (I am 19 years older than my little sister!) - and suggested that I try them out on our newborn baby girl. This is our 3rd babe and we had never experienced colic before to this extent. We've been using the drops for three days now and so far, crying time really is literally cut in half. We were spending between 2 1/2 to 4 hours each night at 7:30pm of the babe crying, or grunting, or fussing or screaming and just not being able to get comfortable no matter what we did. As she is our third baby, we are pretty good at this sort of thing! Anyways - they are great and I am getting ready to buy some before we run out of our samples! I bought these drops a week ago after the pediatrician recommend them. My daughter has had gas and digestive issues since she was born. Being breast fed I tried changing my diet and nothing worked. Gas drops offered slight short term relief. After just a week with the Soothe drops she's starting to cry less through the day and bowel movements are noticeably easier for her. They're a bit pricey for only a 25 day supply but I'm just so happy to find something that helps!
We used this product with our newborn and experienced great results! He trick to getting drops out quicker is to look inside the plastic dropper insert, and you'll notice the drops come out of the middle and there is a small hole on the outer part of the insert. The hole allows excess product to drop back into the bottle and air into the bottle so drops can flow more easily. If you make sure this hole is on top, the drips flow pretty fast.
My son had, what seemed to be, terrible pain while passing gas. He also had bms every 2 or 3 days. Since using this product, he goes poo daily and the gas seems to be easier to manage. He is a happy little guy. The only problem is the container it comes in. It takes 2 to 5 minutes to coax a drop out. I shake and Shake, turn 45 degrees, nothing. Repeat over and over. This bottle design really is awful. However, the product inside is awesome! Change the bottle, please!
Our baby girl has been quite colicky. Now at 11 weeks, this is one of the only products we tried (and we tried everything!!) that does seem to help her tummy. It works best when given at the same time each day. My major complaint is that it advertises a 25 day supply and we are on our 3rd bottle where the max. number of days achieved was 20 days. It's a very expensive so it would be nice if the sell matched the result. I agree the bottle is difficult. It takes up to a minute holding the bottle at 45 degrees to get a drop. The only benefit to slow is it's impossible to over drop.
Our preemie baby was extremely unhappy once we were home. These Gerber Soothe Colic Drops were recommended to us by his pediatrician. They work wonders! I would have given 5 stars, but they are just so dang expensive and they do not last a month. Plus, I can never locate a coupon for them!
I think this product is working, but administering the drops is extremely difficult. The bottle design is absolutely horrendous. Why is it designed this way? I've read your "tips" in other reviews. Those don't make up for what appears to be an absolutely flawed design. Why is the bottle designed this way?
My 7 wk old has gas and seems to strain often. I was on antibiotics during labor and our lactation consultant recommended these drops due to both of the above listed factors. We've been using it for the past 5 days and so far, there may be some improvement at nighttime but not during the day yet (instructions say it could take a week or more) BUT we may give up sooner. The reason is that the bottle design is poor- it's very difficult to get the drops out, following directions exactly- holding bottle at a 45 degree angle. The drops, if and when they come out, come out rapidly and I have to be very careful to not drop in more than 5 drops. I opened the cap to look inside and half the product is gone- after 5 uses?! I think a small eye dropper would be much easier- after all these drops are for colicky babies- patience is limited at feeding time.
I just don't understand what prompted Gerber to develop this bottle design. Following the instructions to tilt the bottle 45 degrees, the drops come out unpredictably at best if at all. Most of the time the drops don't even come out at all. So frustrating for what otherwise seems like a good product. The thing costs $30. Spend a few more bucks and design a bottle that actually dispenses. An eye dropper bottle top would work great.
