Not all 6v batteries are alike. They may look the same and initially function the same. Open them up and some have 4 D cells and a spacer to compensate for the size. These have the more capacity than most brands as they use the F cells and no need for a spacer. More battery, longer life. They also have good shelf life for those emergency uses. Good to know when you need them years later.

I had to send the battery back to the store because it was dented and I did not feel safe using it.
