Took about an hour each to do. you get out what you put in. They look fantastic. Bought something else to seal and protect them by 3m. I recommend you do the same when you're done. pictures don't do them justice.
This kit worked fantastic. Follow the directions and you will be set. Just make sure to put some type of clear coat on afterwards so they stay looking good.
I bought this to use on my daughters car that I had just bought that had one new and one original head lamp after watching a guy on you tube demonstrate it, and he was doing it for a living out of Florida. It took me about 1/2 hour to to follow all the steps and get the head light looking like new. I think the secret to this product over others is that you use a sanding disk that actually removes the top layer of plastic and then you seal it with this compound. And it gives you enough disks to probably do 4 to 6 lights. I just used 1 disk of each sand paper provided for this one light. I've included photos showing the before and after. The one thing I would say however is don't forget some trim tape to put around the light, it's the only thing that's not included (well you need a drill too LOL) and you'll need it to put around your light so you won't damage your paint in case when using the sanding disk you bump the edge of the paint.
Read loads of positive reviews, and indeed, this product works like a charm. i couple of things to keep in mind, you have to make your own judgement on how long to sand for, that's the only downside. I suggest sanding for about 5-8 minutes with each pad. Product is color coded which makes it easy to identify which sanding pads to use. Sanding can be dusty, depending on how yellow your lights are, but you should expect that since you are sanding with a power tool. Masking tape is NOT included, so make sure you get your own, you need, and don't try to avoid it, its a must if you want to keep your paint job. My lights now look new, and i mean new, and i get better visibility when driving at night now. This was money and 2 hours of my time well spent. see my before and after photo, you cant beat this.
Easy job to do with spectacular results. Headlights on my 9y old Accord look almost like new. I say almost because small deeper chirps still remain, but I can see them only from 1-2 feet distance. From 10ft I can't see them. I see noticable improvement during night driving. Just follow simple instructions and you'll be amazed with the result. It took me all together ~45min to do pair of headlights. All you need to have is a drill, masking tape, and a water bottle. If you are planning to use cordless drill, than pre-charge second battery. After I did my own car, I have done headlights on another 13y old car with equally good results. I don't think you can count on more than 2 pairs of headlights from the same kit, as 800-grit paper wears out quickly. You'll need a car wash after you are done.
I was really Impressed with this product. I was kinda worried about the sanding and such but when you hook it up to your drill and just make passes with that it makes it verry easy. The instructions were verry accurate so I would recommend to just read them through every step before you do it. The longer you take on them the Better they will look.
Worked out great on 2002 mustang. Make sure to use each type of sand paper grit. Forgot to take before pic, but it was your typical thick yellowing.
I did not know that a product like this existed. My cousin told me about it & I went online exploring. I found this product. This product is fantastic! It is simple as long as you read the instructions & take your time. My only suggestions are: Make sure you tape your car as shown; read the instuctions carefully ahead of time; take your time you will have enough to do more then one vehicle; also take a before & after picture. I bought this online for $15! Walmart has this cool thing that some items in the stores can be purchased for the online price & picked up in the store the same day. This was one of the items. I saved about $3. This product is definitely worth it no matter which amount you pay. The last thing I would like to mention is do not get scared when you first use this product & the lens becomes cloudy. It's supposed do that...it will eventually become VERY clear after you finish the process.
Expend like 1 hour each side, sanding by hand(hard parts) and drill (to smooth), really impressive results, with lights on u can see all dry plastic, micro cracks, etc, but for a car face lift for just $16, completely worth it. Be sure to sand till all 'shine' parts completely gone before goes to next step to improve results, u need sand and sand till headlight get SOLID WHITE, last 2 steps make it clear again, and then u ll say wooowwwww.
A must try! I have to admit, I was very skeptical of this product, but I had nothing to loose. After finding out how much it was going to cost me to replace both my headlight Len's on my 2004 Pontiac Vibe ($140-$180 each) I decided that for less than $20 if this product did not work I was only out 20 bucks. OMG, I was so impressed and I saved at least $280. I even posted it to my facebook page for others to see. Only thing I will suggest is make sure to use a "electric" drill or have a couple charged batteries for your cordless. Mine did not hold a charge long enough to complete the project for both sides. Thank you Helen
