Great. Like the oil filtration system and the cover. No splatters on hand by using basket as opposed to spoons or spatula. Heats very quickly. Cover window needs a moisture reducing barrier to keep the viewing area clear.
I'll keep it brief...Here are the exceptional qualities about the T-fal EZ Clean 1.8L Deep Fryer: - VERY easy to clean. I mean 30 seconds and the dishwasher = done. - Adjustable temperature. Believe it or not, not all have this required feature. - The drain system works automatically. I'm not sure how it detects temperature to allow the draining process to begin, but it does and it works perfectly. - Kind of need to repeat the part about the drain system. It's pretty amazing, actually. - Small (which I wanted), but big enough to cook for two in one shot. I hope I'm getting it across that this product is flawless as far as I'm concerned. I don't normally write reviews, but I'm rarely this satisfied with a product. If you're thinking about buying it, go for it! You won't be disappointed!
I bought this for two reasons - T-Fal quality consistency and the oil drain feature. I was not disappointed. A surprising amount can be fried at a time. The size and amount of oil used is deceiving. After cooling, what a pleasure to just flip a switch and have the oil filter out into the container inside. No more heating the cast iron pan, scraping the bottom with a sieve... T-Fal is a great name...I still have a nonstick skillet that has no wear after 3 years and own their OptiGrill. Great quality! I expect this fryer won't be any different. You can buy with confidence.
Works perfect for my 17 year old done to cook fries and nuggets using one device that is easy to clean. I had a bigger version of this which heated up much faster, but for this one. I just turn it on and allow more time for the grease to heat up. I love it! About to be an empty nester, so can easily fry 5-6 wings that cook perfect every time!
Easy to use, easy to clean. Makes storing and disposing of the used oil a snap. Everything breaks down and goes straight into the dishwasher. Love it.
Love it but the temperature light does not come on when you plug it in so I have to use a fryer thermometer. Other than that, its great. Easy clean, filters the oil and removal oil storage.
Unit does a great job. Love the oil filter, food tastes even better the second time around. The 1.8L does have a pretty small basket, go with the larger 3.5L if you need to cook for a bigger family. Have had fish stick to the basket when dropped in but was easily pulled free with a fork. Never had the lid come off the oil container when pouring as stated in other reviews, I always set the container in the sink to pour back just in case.
turn it on hi & wait for the oil to reach the max temp. Use your own thermometer to be sure the built in temp is accurate. Start your oil a little over the cooking temp to allow for cool down from cold food being added. Be sure you let the oil cool before using the built in strainer / storeage. More than ample for 2 people .
My first order would not drain the oil, so I returned it and reordered. My new one drains great but temperature light does not work. Am keeping it since it is too frustrating to return again. The concept is great and uses less oil than most fryers. Takes the hassle out of the clean up. Just wish it was built well enough for all of it to function properly.
A small metal ring that holds the oil drain filter assembly in place was broken when I received this item. I contacted the manufacturer and they gave me the runaround about sending a replacement part (which would probably be the entire oil container), so I took it back to Walmart. I'm not sure if I will order another one because the store is and has been out of stock on this item, although they always have a display model! I was also not pleased with the manufacturers customer service.
