Detailed product description

The Goodyear Eagle RS-A is an all-season touring tire specially designed for drivers who are looking for year-round traction, predictable handling, and durability. Often used as Original Equipment (O.E.) for performance sedans, sports cars, and sporty coupes, the Goodyear Eagle RS-A provides reliable traction under various driving conditions. It features an aggressive shoulder tread block which helps enhance grip on the road during cornering. The wide lateral grooves evacuate water efficiently out of the tires while maximizing wet road traction. So whether its rain or shine, you can drive confidently knowing that your tires have your back. The Goodyear Eagle RS-A also minimizes road noise so you can enjoy a quiet and comfortable ride even when travelling at long distances. For the best results, it is recommended to use the Goodyear Eagle RS-A in sets of four.

It goes round and round!

This tire does exactly what it's supposed to. It allows my car to drive on the road! I can't tell any difference from my old, bald tires and these ones. Both allowed my car to go both forward and backward!

I live in SoFL and these tires are great for me and what I need them for. Ride noise is minimal. The traction is good for everyday driving. The ride feels smooth as well.

I replaced the p-zero's that came on the car at 17500 miles with a set of RS-A tires. Mustang V6, daily driver. It didn't matter if it was rain, sleet or snow. They only broke traction with effort. I even got a 0-60 time of 5.2 seconds in rain at 2am one night. The car has seen snow from Pennsylvania to Georgia with these. Tread life really wasn't the issue with the tires as I opted to replace them after 7 years. I also had around 70k miles on them. No bald spots and well over 4/32 (dot minimum spec for commercial vehicle steer tires) of tread left. You may not win drag strip races, but you can feel confident doing interstate speeds in the rain, 45+ in the snow and 35 on the ice easily (no brakes Ma).

So far, I have not had any winter driving experiences yet, so I didn't give a 5 star on that. Also, the place I bought these tires told me that the tread rating on these tires was a 2 out of 10, and the tires that they wanted to sell me were cheaper and had a tread rating of 8. But I still chose to buy these tires because I believe the tire is better than a 2 rating, but I've only had them on the road less than 45 days. The tires are definitely quieter than what I had. I hadn't really noticed the road noise from before until it was gone. This tire also corners very well, feels like your stuck to the road, this is the primary reason I wanted them. The last 9 sets of tires I bought for this vehicle were all the same brand and model tire. Too bad it was discontinued, but it looks like I've found my new brand and model.

Our Ford Taurus came with the Goodyear RS-A tires from the factory. After 10 years and 66,000 miles I replaced them not because the tread was gone but because of sidewall cracking. I replaced them with another set of Goodyear RS-A tires and expect them to last just as long.

A smooth, performance first, tire

I had a set of 4 Goodyear RS-A tires installed on my 2011 Chrysler 200 Limited 3.6 V-6. As with most tires, the first 15,000 miles were smooth with knife edged handling. That's where the similarities with other performance tires ended. I traveled a total of 35,000 miles before I replaced them with no concerns. I replaced them with a set of Sumitomo tires, and I immediately felt the reason they cost half the price. Never again. Listen folks. There is a reason that Goodyear is the Official Tire of NASCAR.

Had these tires on my ram truck & they were excellent. Nice quite smooth ride, great performance & handling on Hwy/Interstate. Rotated several times & got the expected mileage out of them 64,000 - 67,000 miles. Replaced with TOYO & it was a big mistake, as Toyo were loud & broke traction to often & handling was not nearly as good. Went back to the Goodyear RSA & finally satisfied again. Lesson Learned no doubt, stick with the Goodyear.

Good, but I had better.

These are returning roughly 10% lower fuel mileage than the Uniroyal Tiger Paws I had fitted to the car previously. I haven't experienced snow, but the Goodyear Eagle RS-A does offer slightly better traction in the rain than the Uniroyal. The Tiger Paw did offer slightly better dry traction than these Eagle RS-A do.

Disappointing lifespan

I bought a new set of these tires just under 3 years ago. After only 30,000 miles of usage, they have worn out. We are boring middle-aged drivers, so this is a completely unacceptable lifespan for tires that cost me over $1000 to purchase and have installed. Q. Why do Goodyear not back these tires with any meaningful warranty? A: Because they know these are not good quality! AVOID THESE TIRES IF YOU VALUE YOUR CASH!

After 20 months and 17k miles

I live in the Denver area and bought tires from Nissan dealer at 27k miles. In 20 months, with regular rotation and proper maintenance, my front tires are effectively bald. From day one, they have been noisy and not a great ride. Goodyear has a great rep but it is not all deserved in my experience.
