So this is somewhat of a story. Had an 01 Silverado. At 128k miles is when I bought and the first winter I had piston slap noise. Not knowing that thinking it was a rod knock, I took it to the dealership. They checked it out and swore it was this piston slap. Come to find it is common in the 5.3, 4.8, 6.0 due to no piston skirts. The mechanic swore Mobil 1 was the oil to use. Well I wasn't satisfied it almost seemed to be louder and go longer (it stops when warmed up usually). Well I experimented with a number of oils each oil change a new oil, always with a Purolator pure one filter.valvoline high mile max life was the first one to noticably quiet it down sooner. Been using ever since! Used in that Silverado for another 100k before trans went out. Used in my trail blazer for 20k before I sold it, used in my fusion I still have, only did one change though. And currently doing my first change to this oil in my 86 Vette. I usually substitute one quart with a Lucas additive but recently discovered that the STP additive actually helped mpg by a couple as well as quiet any engine noise so that is my recipe I'm sticking to. Great oil! Highly recommend, and I tell anyone who may ask what oil they should run or what I run. Keep it up guys, don't cheap out on us like most companies are doing these days, and I'll forever be a loyal valvoline user!
I use Valvoline in all my vehicles. It is the only oil I have used for the past 50 years. Started when I was 16 now 66. Never had any issues. I even run VR 1 10W30 in my 66 Chevelle. Nothing better than Valvoline
Valvoline has been my top choice of oil for the past 2 decades! I would not trust another brand besides valvoline products.
Valvoline is the brand of motor oil we always buy; and the price on Walmart.com was good. No complaints about the oil, but the packaging by Walmart.com was a disappointment. The products we purchased were in a box that was too big, and there was no packing material to keep it from moving around in the box. Unfortunately, by the time the oil and air filter we ordered arrived at our house, the oil leaked and we had a mess.
Best price on earth
Like the extra support given.
I drive a 25 year old pickup with over 400k original miles. Its only had valvoline fluids in it since i purchased it as the second owner.
Been using this product for years and won't change it for anything else I use it on all of my vehicles Ane even got some coworkers to use it as well great product.
I have a late model Cadillac DTS that had several oil leaks. I have used several quality oils and sealants to no avail. I didn't hold out much hope for any other oils. But, I had the oil changed with Max Life from Walmart. I drove 18 miles to work and I saw no dripping as in the past. I just drove the car 1,600 miles and used a pint, which is incredible. The car feels like it has more power also. I have seven vehicles and you know what I'm going to use in them from now on.
An Oil soaked box wrapped in a clear plastic garbage bag sitting in an official usps pvc bin was presented to me. A wholly misinformed postal carrier forced me to take delivery of this OILY MESS. If I didn't take it off her hands she said she wouldnt be delivering any more packages to me when i am not home. No wonder usps is a brainless enterprise, a money losing entity. Any other shipping service would have sent this mess packing back to the shipper WITHOUT involving me. If I were not home She was actually going to leave this PRESENT in my front hallway. Another gift arranged and left by three Scrooges
