I noticed an increase in acceleration and in my mileage immediately. Just one problem....it was sent for store-pickup to the wrong Walmart on the other side of the county. I ended up cancelling the order and buying it off the shelf from the Walmart about a mile from my house.
Ive been using it for years my truck has more power and gets better mileage. I found out that Walmart sold it online at the best price. Im happy with that.
This is a good product, I use in three VW TDI's and my diesel tractor. The TDI's 7 tractor seem to run better and it's cheap insurance that the injection pump and injectors are being cleaned and lubricated.
I have '00 F350 Crew with a 7.3 Powerstroke with 205,000 miles. I have been adding the Diesel Kleen to the fuel for about 3 years now. At the start point on the bottle of 1/3 oz per gal (1 oz per 3 gal fuel) you will notice a cleaner burn when you step on it plus you are lubing your injectors which is very important, especially on the older diesels. At this amount, I only noticed about 1/2 mpg increase and not any real difference in power. Now, right on the bottle, if you read close, it says you can double the "dose" for max cetane boost......that would be 2/3 oz per gal (1 oz per 1.5 gal fuel). I recently started dong this and I have seen at least a 2 MPG increase and noticed more power....it just seems to lug better and not downshift as quick....it seems to take less "gas" pedal. The stuff is only about 22 cents an oz so when you look at the price of fuel right now it is not much in comparison to the fuel price and then you add in the facts that you are getting the mileage increases along with the added lubrication. I emailed the factory (Power Services) and they said you can go up to a triple dose (1 oz per gal of fuel)....about which they stated "Anything up to this point will provide you with nothing but additional benefits from the additives." To be clear, by "up to this point", they were referring to a triple dose of 1 oz per gal of fuel. I have a buddy with an '06 DuraMax, he just spent $2500+ on new injectors, he now wishes he would have been running Diesel Kleen. Go to the Power Services website and closely read the info there. I think once you try it, you will keep using it. Thanks, Bob W. Omaha, NE
I can't comment on the additive as I have not yet used it. I can say though, that Walmart's shipping was super-fast and the ordering process was very easy. I was impressed.
I use this everytime I fill my tank. Helps keep the fuel injectors clean.
Diesel kleen is the old fuel additive I use in my 1997 dodge ram 3500 5.9 12v cummins turbo diesel. Living in New York the only diesel fuel available is terrible! Not only is it lacking lubrication but 40 is all that's available. Diesel kleen not only adds lubricants but also adds cetane which obviously increases power as well as helps noticeably with fuel economy. I use diesel kleen every time I get fuel. I purchase the 80oz bottle and using a measuring cup with a pouring lid I also purchased from Wal-Mart I add 1/2oz per gallon. I would suggest anyone with a diesel engine use diesel kleen every time they get fuel.
The old standby for a Diesel powered vehicle. I really don't know whether it works or not-I have used it in the last 2 Diesel pick ups I have owned, so I have no experience without it.
I have a 2005 GMC with Duramax/Allison. It has over 252,000 miles on it, and it runs pretty good, but when I would be idling at a traffic light, and barely applying the brakes, the truck would do tiny lurches forward. I thought I had a problem with the xmsn clutches or the torque converter. About 120 miles ago (2 days ago), I added 16 ounces of Diesel Kleen to a full fuel tank. After the first day, the truck is not lurching any more. It is also much more sensitive to gas pedal inputs, and acceleration is incredible. The truck is mostly stock, but about 6 months, I added a larger-diameter duct from the air filter to the turbo intake duct, and swapped the turbo duct itself from LLY to LBZ, which frees up more air for the turbo. I also programmed the ECM with a PPE Standard programmer on Level 2. This adds 90 HP and 160 lbs/ft of torque. (I did not go higher because of possibly harming the Allison xmsn. Before I added Diesel Kleen, the truck had very good power (est. 400 hp and 800 torque). But now, the truck accelerates far better, runs very smoothly at all RPMs, and fuel mileage looks to have gone up at least 1-2 mpg. Diesel Kleen is an excellent product, and it really works!!!
I've supplemented my diesel fuel for years with this cetane additive. I checked Walmart's site since my local store was out. I've seen this at greater cost in stores and the price I paid through Walmart's website was far better. It was delivered to my home for no cost and in only 1 day! I am very pleased!
