I got this mat because not only is it ribbed and thus making standing in a tub safer from slipping, it has suction cups which make it really adhere to the tub floor. My tub does have a raised design, but this mat's design makes it stick to the bottom whereas regular mats can't really adhere well to a textured tub surface. I recommend cleaning and drying after every use. It is also easier to push the suction cups down better when the tub is dry, though you can even when filled with water, just takes longer!
I gave this mat a try and it works great and looks good. You dont even have to give it a second thought. You can just take it for granted unlike other mats that are rough on your feet and look bad. Also it does not slide around or get displaced . This mat got it right for design and actual function of using it for shower or bath.
I purchased this bath mat so my 2 year old would not slip in our tub. It works great and just as described. My wife and I started using it as well because it not only works as a non-slip surface, but also feels good under your feet. Two things to consider: 1) You need to take it out after every use so it dries out properly. 2) It does have suction cups that don't always fasten very well so be careful.
This is sold in stores but not in white. They have a purple type color and a tan-ish color. This has suction cups under it. It is squishy under your feet. Throw it in the washer with a little bleach and it comes out clean. If you use regular laundry soap it doesn't get rid of the soap slime. If you wash it once a week it will hold up for a few months before the suction cups start to fall off the back from washing. But at the price I think it's worth it.
They should rename this the creeping bath mat. It has to be repositioned after every few washes. Also, ours got so mildewed after a year, we had to throw it out. Even the washing machine on hot couldn't clean it properly. I did just learn however from reading someone else's review that I was supposed to take it up every day to let it dry. Oops! I guess that's why mine only lasted one year. Other than that, it's the most comfortable bath mat I've ever set foot on.
Have had these mats for several years now. I admit I love the cushy feel under my toes but the problem I have with them is that they absorb water & take forever to dry out so they get moldy even if you hang them up to dry immediately after showering. The only way I know of to kill the mold is to soak them in a bleach solution & then wash them in the clothes washer. Of course the clothes washer beats them up a bit. This has to be done fairly often. It's a little too high maintenance for my taste. I'm currently looking to replace these with a mat that won't absorb water & dries quickly.
This online mat has large suction cups widely spaced. Your feet feel like they are on a cobblestone road. In spite of the suction cups on the second day it slid down the tub several inches. A few days later I bought a Rubbermaid mat at a Walmart Store and it is the old style with small, closely positioned, suction cups. The online mat is now an emergency spare I hope to never need!
This product is inferior compared to previous ones we have had that appeared to be the same thing. This mat is now MUCH thinner and does NOT feel cushioned, what I DO feel is the suction cups from underneath it every time I walk or stand on it. It is not enjoyable to stand on this at all and I wish we had not replaced the previous one we had that was actually more cushioned. It is sad when a company tries to reduce costs by giving up quality, only the consumers suffer.
This product failed us in every respect. It would not seat properly in the porcelain tub. When it was bath time, it simply floated to the surface. It grew more algae than my uncle's farm pond and twice as fast. When washed, it did not come clean. I would upload a picture, but when I threw it away, I covered it with the remainder of our dinner. Save yourself $11.
The product was extremely poor quality! The material was inferior, the suction cups of poor design and the mat was not cut squarely. I was replacing an older mat of the same brand, but the new one wasn't made anything like the old one. A note with the product gave the name of the distributor to contact for replacements, and they did handle the complaint quickly.
