I put two of these inside my boat all year - one in the cabin and one in the V-berth. They fill up in about 6 months. I think they do a good job because there is no moldy/musty smell in the air when a get on the boat, even after being away for a few weeks.
I have a two story house that gets a little bit of musty smell from the attics. These really help suck out moisture in places that the dehumidifier cant reach. I put these in my attic spaces. Super super easy to use (just take off the lid) and to discard (put the lid back on). I also use the hanging DampRid bags in the closet that smell amazing.
We have a travel trailer that is stored during the winter months here in Washington state. Being on the west side of the state it get a little wet here so it's important to make sure that we don't loose everything to mold and mildew. This help, depending on the humidity level I change out the bucket every 4 to 6 weeks. I don't think the price is too much , it's saving me hundreds in replacement cost if my mattress, cushions, etc. became ruined. Just take off the plastic top, leave the paper cover on the crystals and walk away... when it's done it's job, all of the crystals become hard, just throw it away and open a new one. doesn't get any easier than that.
Some of the buckets had a brown substance on the outside and the beads inside were full, not sure they had not been used, some were in tack and could shake the beads so accumulation can occur. I will make sure to visit a brick and mortar and purchase in person. The container on left substance is white versus shipment's brown substance.
I have tried the other various designs including the refillable and the hanging ones but this one does the best job of absorbing moisture for the longest time with no fear of spilling or leaking or corrosion from removal/overflowing. Wish the indicator line/dots on the side were more accurate as I need to heft it to see just how full it really is but at least the rising dark color warns you to check it. This is still the best I have used and I will continue to do so. Having the sawdust to hold the liquid in place rather than loose and spillable is very nice.
Who ever packed this product needs to learn how to pack things. It came in a box twice its size with no packing material and rolling around freely inside the box. Have no idea if the contents inside the damprid were suppose to be all mixed and at the bottom of the container. Not sure it anything leaked out because there was a dusty substance on the tub.
I bought 10, to mitigate the moisture in my house after hurricane Ian. When they packaged them, they jammed them in a box, knocking the lids off of two, spilling the desicant all over in the box.
Item came damaged and spilling out of packaging.
This is the third time I have ordered these from Walmart and for the third time, my products came damaged. The sticky and messy residue is everywhere and the tubs are broken and not usable. So disappointed.
So disappointed, i waited so long for this too come and then for it to show up, popped open, and spilt all-over the box and not saveable. Sad ;/ Now i have to wait even longer for a new one, an hope this one isnt ruined so i could use it.
