I read the initial JUNK reviews and they scared me away however Legalfields comment & other detailed information from users (Thank U all) gave me a feeling that it would work. It did work and fit perfect (almost OEM) in the 2002 Blazer i installed it in (BTW, some 2002s have the 2003 wiring harness). We removed the factory double din and installed a single din stereo receiver; the new additional storage compartment under the stereo is much appreciated. It took me about 45 min to assemble the frame once I figured out which pieces to save and which pieces i needed to cut off with my Dremel. If you dont have a small rotary tool that will cut and grind on plastic I would NOT purchase this kit as without the tool it would be very difficult configuring the frame for your application. The instructions are followable if your familiar with work of this type; I will admit it took a few readings to comprehend which pieces i had to cut off. The shaded areas were initially difficult to see in the small pictures; Red Colored areas would be easier to identify. If you have patience, some skills and the proper tools this kit will work. Overall a good product but needs to be better side pieces and better instructions for side pieces
I purchased this kit for my Buick Lesabre and my new stereo would not initially fit. It was not until I used an extra part (spacer) from another brand of installation kit that I could get my head unit to fit inside my shallow factory cutout. If Schosche had just included a simple spacer ring, the whole process would have gone much more smoothly. I would not recommend this kit for Lesabres but I cannot speak for other cars' compatibility.
great product
Although this product was inexpensive& readily available unless you the purchaser are familiar with aftermarket stereo installation, the product description are extremely vague& confusing. This leads to a wrong purchase& although the return process is easy I know I prefer to just get it right the first time. Other than that, I think that Wal-Mart does awesome at attempting to keep decent stock within their store
Did not fit my vehicle like it said it would😞 i gave it 2 stars only because the delivery was fast!! w
THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE NOT VERY GOOD. I CALLED TECH SUPPORT AND THEY WERE RESPONSIVE AND POLITE, BUT NOT VERY HELPFUL. I HAD TO MAKE SOME ASSUMPTIONS TO COMPLETE ASSEMBLY AND HOPE THEY WERE CORRECT. MATING OF THE MOUNTING CLIPS TO THE FACE-PLATE WAS NOT VERY GOOD AND I HAD TO MODIFY PARTS FOR THEM TO ASSEMBLE AND STAY TOGETHER. THE CD POCKET WAS DISTORTED AND I HAD TO HEAT IT WITH A FLAME AND MOLD BACK INTO SHAPE TO GET IT TO WORK. THE FINAL RESULT WAS ACCEPTABLE, BUT THE FINISH STILL LOOKS KINDA' CHEAP. MAYBE "METRA" KITS ARE BETTER?
This kit will not fit a: 2000 GMC Jimmy 2WD / 2-Dr / S-15
I bought this kit to put a new stereo in a 2003 GMC Yukon and I couldn't be more disappointed. Scosche tried to make this kit usable on way too many different vehicles and the product suffered as a result. It has a dozen or so plastic clips that need to be sawed off depending on what type of vehicle you have. The face plate wasn't even wide enough to allow me to put a standard sized DIN head unit through it. After 30 minutes of trying to widen the face plate by filing down the inner sides and realizing I was going to run out of room, I threw it in the trash. This was a complete waste of time and money. After this didn't work I picked up a GMC-only install kit from an auto parts store and it worked like a charm. Save yourself the headache and find one that is made ONLY for your make and model year instead of this joker that claims to work for a bunch but is incorrectly sized for all of them.
I spent 3 hours with a knife and a file enlarging the hole for the head unit. It was made to narrow, plus the directions were very unclear about which tabs to cut off.
