This product is perfect for installing an aftermarket radio in newer GM vehicles that need the safety chimes. It is surprising how well this works, the little black box makes a great amount of sound. I highly recommend this product, especially with the great Wal-Mart value.
I had no problems with this harness at all. It was easy to install and my aftermarket stereo matched up perfectly.
Attn. all Gmc owners! This product is a must! If you don't buy this with 2003 models and up you after market deck will not work! Trust me I tried. I own a 07 sierra classic base model and I still needed this product! If you get this it will save you time and a headache! It comes with the wire harness too so don't buy it separately!
completed the install on my 2005 Pontiac Grand Am. Made the installation and wiring hookup painless. All the wiring matched up just as it should, everything worked right the first time. Don't even think about trying to get away without this. Worth every penny. Don't forget to get a GM Universal antenna connector though. Nothing I read mentioned I would need it. When I discovered the need my local walmart was out of stock and I had to pay double the cost for one at a car stereo shop. FYI
Product said it wouldn't work with premium sound systems but works flawlessly in my Bose and Onstar truck. Chime is a lot better than the factory one and sound seems to be the same quality wise. For other kits that do the same thing I found that they were in the upper 100s so this is the cheapest one for what it does!
I'm glad I did my homework and found this item myself online it saved me money and was easy to use.
Sometimes it acts up with other controls makes my abs lights and security lights act up in my 09 Colorado and shuts daytime running lamps off sometimes
Bought one of these to install in a 09 GMC Canyon, first one had issues with the radio not shutting off when opening the car door, exchanged that one. Installed the second one with same results of the radio not shutting off, and more issues. My anti-theft light remains illuminated on the dashboard, or will turn on after driving for awhile. When driving if the light turns on all lights turn off, headlights and everything. Not great when you work night shift and its pitch black out and the lights turn off. Contacted technical support (through e-mail), they advised to tear apart my dashboard for a third time now and unplug the harness for 7 minutes without opening doors or windows, or the trunk. Completed this task that i was advised to, plugged back in radio wouldn't turn on. I left everything plugged in and talked to technical support again, i get told well you can run a accessory wire to your fuse box for the radio not turning off/on. Isn't this the reason to buy a harness so I don't have for un wires everywhere and re-wire the car? Technical support says i can send it back and they will send a new one under warranty, to me this isn't acceptable though. That means ripping the dashboard apart for a fourth time to fix Scosche's problematic harness. I went through 2 of these already with the same exact problems, i doubt number 3 will be the charm. I would stay away from this product and look at the different brands offered for GM vehicles, Metra and also Crux makes harnesses, maybe Ill try one of theirs and see if it works as it is suppose to.
This product does not work when it is cold (maybe less than 40 degrees?) It is the weirdest problem. When you turn the key to ACC, the radio works fine. Then, when you start the car the radio has no power. No lights, no sound, ..., nothing. If I pull over after 10 minutes or so of driving the car, turn the car off, and restart the car, then usually the radio works. I think because the temperature inside the car has gone up. Very disappointed. I see there are similar stories on different forums. Just do a google search for "radio does not work in cold" and this Scosche module starts popping up.
the adapter work flawlessly in the winter then when summer rolled around it stopped working after the first scorcher of the summer and i live in north florida and have a black truck i may buy a new one just to see if this one just wasnt defective if that was the case then it would be five stars but as for now i have no radio while driving but when stopped and the vehicle is in accesory it works flawlessly !!
