Make sure you get the right kit first.....a lot easier that way!!! I first bought the kit in Walmart that was listed for my vehicle ('98 Mountaineer) and tried for 2 days to install the new radio. I finally gave up and went to Scosche's website and found that I had a specific kit for my factory radio system. I purchased this kit and a wiring hook up kit. I was at first disappointed as Ford has 3 wire harnesses but only 1 is used for the radio. When I finally tried to install it, the kit went right together, the radio slid right in and the wiring kit could not have been easier. Literally within an hour, it was installed and working and all clean up was done.
Exact fit and instructions that were clear and easy to follow.
This fit so well it looks like it came from the factory. I will use this again if I ever need to change out another stereo. Thanks for the perfect fit.
Perfect fit for my 2000 Ford Explorer. Tried 2 others that said it fit, but it didn't. No breaking, or cutting on this kit either.

after attempting many times to get the adapter to lock in we removed the unnecessary locking tabs and it locked right in.
I used this to install an aftermarket receiver in my 2007 Ford Escape. I was pleasantly surprised to see it had a bracket that fastens to the back of the radio which connected to the slide rail in the dash of my vehicle. Unfortunately the bracket didn't include the bolt/screw to go into the back of the radio, but maybe that's something the radio manufacturer should have supplied. The bracket did help the radio from moving around. I wish the large pocket didn't have small holes in the back. I could see a small pair of ear rings being lost in the dash if someone wasn't careful. I would have liked to have seen a taller storage pocket and less plastic between it and the radio slot, but it might not have been as sturdy otherwise. Pushing the kit in hard enough to get the clips to fasten to the dash was a challenge but I guess that ensures a tight fit. All in all, I'm satisfied with the look after installation.
Made installing aftermarket deck easy. No backbrace, so it could be better.
Was supposed to be compatible with 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis but it didn't fit!!
