I needed this shelf to hold a 3 gallon water supply (about 25 pounds) and it is an excellent choice. It is sturdy enough to hold a lot more weight, maybe twice as much. It looks great, and gives me plenty of room underneath for other storage. the only problem was that the directions do not tell you that the sockets for the legs are tapered and the legs and spacers will only fit one way. The spacers have an arrow that points "up", but from the picture of the unit itself it is hard to tell which way is "up". It would have saved me a few minutes if I had known, but that is a very minor detail. I am well pleased.
I bought 2 of these little shelves to add some organizational options to 2 of my desk cabinets. I have been able to store numerous books and even a laptop and briefcase with the help of these shelves. The look is very nice, even in a rustic wood setting. The shelves have a nice weight capacity and fit perfectly in any nook and cranny you can use for storage.
My son ordered this for his room to put his game consoles on it allows for air to circulate and keep the system cool. He loves the look and it's very sturdy. Love it! Great value! I've owned shelves by Whitmor in different style and still like new after 3 years.
Along with 4 Wide Chrome stacking shelves, I bought 6 of these to hold photo albums, scrapbooks and large artbooks (my large wood bookcases aren't deep enough - only 12"). Everything fits perfectly - I did use a few bookends to prevent the books from falling through the sides - and I found that my LP collection fits, too! Easy to put together, sturdy...and they go with my chrome and glass desks and etagere.
I have several of this type of shelf in my house, but I needed something to fit next to the shower stall in the master bathroom. I purchased 5 of these to stack and it looks great next to the chrome framing of the shower stall. The height is perfect as it does not stand taller than the shower stall itself. The space between the shelves allows for stacking many towels. I actually have more space than I had planned for and that's ok with me! I like this type of shelf because they are easy to assemble, quite sturdy and easy on the eyes.
Purchased this item from Walmart.com along with an Ottoman and 2 Serving trays. Wanted this item for a End Table due to the fact I have the 4 Shelf matching unit that I use as an Entertainment Cabinet. Love the Simplicity and Modern Industrial look...so decided to get the smaller 1 shelf to use as an End Table. However, I should have paid attention to the height of it in comparison to the sofa set I have, as it turned out to be shorter. So had to purchase 2 and stack as one to make taller. But Ultimately, it looks Fantastic and is actually Better with 2 stacked to make 1 end table, as now it has 2 Adjustable Shelves and is very sturdy, each to clean and matches my home decor!
Difficulty in assembly. I hate those plastic things that are supposed to snap together. I ended up using packing tape to hold them together.
This little shelf/stand is light and portable enough to use anywhere. Fits great in the guest bath for extra room for towels, toiletries, etc. Also great to use as an art supply table next to my easel wherever I take it. Easy to clean. I bought just one for these purposes but can see how cool it would be to stack them for a more permanent unit.
I used these as a replacement to flimsy mesh shoe racks I purchased elsewhere. I place my fiance heavy dirty boots on them. I use mine as a shoe rack, I place slippers or running shoes on top, and my heels underneath. I stack mine vertically & horizontally. They work great under coats in the closet. I'm buying more soon. I really like them.
First off the measurements said 14x15x16. But on the box it said 14x15x15. To me it was cheaply made compared to the Honey can do with a basket. I wanted one without the basket and since I was to believe that it was the same height but no an inch shorter. Plus one wire was a tiny bit bent. Going to keep it anyways and put it somewhere else and buy another Honey Can Do.
