Works perfectly!

Purchased for garage organization. The rails in this kit are the shorter rails and you can also purchase the longer rails to add to the system (which I did). I only used two studs for the shorter rails and then put in a bunch of heavy duty wall anchors. The rails seem very strong and it seems to work perfectly as intended even with 2 studs (instead 3). Highly recommended if you want an excellent system that's not pegboard.

Organized Garage

Awesome! My husband picked it out as he liked the simplicity of the design. I was skeptical, but he was right. Screws into the studs every 16 inches and the accessories simply click right into place and are sturdy. This system looks good, is durable, of good quality, and best of all, easy to install and use. The only thing is the accessories are always sold out at Lowe's and Home Depot. Clearly we are not the only ones that like this unit! Would like more accessories, ie. attachable shelf.

I am not gifted with technical ability, but even I was able to install these - moreover, make it look good in the process!

The folks complaining about these not working for unfinished walls are mistaken. It is true that the end pilot holes are 31" apart, but wall studs are placed 16" apart on center. A modern 2x4 is actually 3.5 x 1.75 inches wide which means there is 3/4 on an inch of wood on each side of that 16" to drill a pilot hole and screw the rail down. Assuming you drill straight in, it will overlap a quarter of an inch. Or make things easy on your self and drill at a bit of and angle. OR you could simply mount the steel rail between two studs instead of three and it will be plenty strong. The folks complaining about how they don't work should probably ask someone to show them how. They work great.

Track system design flaw

Reviewed in the USA on 2015-04-05T17:00:00

The track has an overall length of 32" with holes for the screws inset 1/2" from the ends. If you line one end hole up with the center of a stud the other end hole will miss the opposite end stud. It is not possible to put screws into three studs. This seems to be a design flaw. To correct the problem the two end holes should be 32" apart with an overall track length of 33". Customer service said they have had many calls on this topic. They offered, and I accepted, additional wall anchors. I would think, however, that they would correct the problem instead of continuing to sell something that doesn't conform to their installation instructions. I rated the quality as poor due to the design flaw. The material quality is excellent.

I like the idea

When I saw this organization set up I bought two sets and later bought several more pieces. I have two issues with the sliding cover. One there are no end caps or a way to stop the caps from sliding from side to side when removing or hanging tools. Also, some of the caps easily come off when removing a tool if there is no other tool heavy enough to way it down. I'm sure this was not designed with this in mind. Again I like the organization idea but it is frustrating to have to adjust or reinstall the plastic rail caps every time I hang or remove a tool or bike. I'd like to know if there is a fix for this is

As has already been mentioned, it is impossible to hit 3 studs with the 32" rail. Will be returning and looking for a different solution.

Finished Garages Only, Beware.

This system looked great on paper, but when trying to install in a non-finished 12x16 shed this system failed to line up but only onto two studs on a 16" OC wall. I also purchased two other 48" tracks along with multiple other accessories that will not work because of not going directly into enough studs to make sure the weight is distributed. Will not recommend this to product to anyone without a finished garage or shed, as you will need the anchors on at least one set of mounts.

This passed QC?

The product is simply defective as noted in other reviews. The 32" rail needs to be manufactured a minimum of 3/4" to 1" longer to hit three studs. I'll still try the rail system but it means going back to the old way of lag screws into a 2x6 on the wall (into studs) then screwing the rail onto the 2x6. Considering the cost, I'm disappointed in the additional work needed to try out this product.
