We purchased this to save on batteries and it works well. The cord is long enough to sit on a couch while it is plugged in. Works well for what it was made for.
This is a must have! My daughter was using up the batteries at an incredibly fast rate, so this adaptor has made a world of difference. It cost me the same amount as a package of batteries! It is a great value.
Found that I was replacing LeapPad batteries almost daily, depending on my son's use! This adapter allows my son to play for extended time at home without having to worry about sucking up battery power!!
I received the leapfrog AC/ Adapter and my child was able to play with his leap pad immediately. I wish they had an adapter that charges the Leap Pad or at least the batteries because as you may know if you have a Lead Pad because of all of the technology it has, it goes through a lot of batteries. The cord is a little short, but I guess this is to protect the children from tripping over the cord. It does work wonders for home use and then you can save on the cost of batteries by using only when away from home.
I love having the power adapter. It does not charge the batteries, just allows you to save battery life by using the adapter. Before we bought this I was having to put 4 AA batteries in the LeapPad2 everyday. That can become expensive very quickly.
Oh, this little thing is an absolute must for the LeapPad because the tablet will drain regular batteries within hours with constant use. Rechargable batteries would also be a good investment. You don't wanna have to tell the kids that they have to wait to play because there are no more batteries! Watch out!
When I first got the LeapPad 2 I was a little worried my 2 yr old might have a little trouble with it. He can use our computers pretty good, so we figured the touch screen would be easier. He had a little trouble at first because it's not what mommy and daddy use. I bought my wife a BlackBerry Playbook for Christmas as well. Once Jr saw mommy's tablet he took right to his LeapPad. Some of the games are too hard for him right now, but in the next couple years he'll learn to use it more and more. For now he's really into the interactive E-Books. You can set the reading level right in the book to make it a simple story or crank up the difficulty to challenge them. My suggestion is that unless your 2 yr old is a little advanced I would wait till about 3. But for a long term learning investment, it really can't be beat. On a side note, I read some reviews that told us to set it up before the child sees it. This was a very good idea, because it takes about 45 minutes to set up, pick apps, and download everything. Another awesome feature is that when you connect it to your computer it uploads to the LeapFrog website and they send you updates on you child's progress, what they play the most, what skills they excel at and what they need to work on more. I find this feature very valuable, so that I can balance out my child's abilities. The parent features also let you control how you're child uses it. (Still trying to figure that out though.) I highly recommend this product for any parent that wants their child to lean on a fun and safe medium.
I think the charger is very good. It saves me money on battery. The battery finish very fast unlike the charger which I used only at home and save the battery for going out. I used it on the leapfrog Ipad.
It works as expected. Great for when out of batteries. Daughter was expecting it to charge it….not that kind of device…so she is adjusting to being tied to the outlet.
product stopped working after about one month. seems not to be made very well at all.
